Stayed 7 days last March and we are going back this year. Great place for the money.

We stayed march 2007 and were pleased with everything. Clean, good service, quiet, good location, and reasonable.

My 2 friends and I stayed at the Ambiance Villas and it was fun until we we're robbed. Between the two of my friends $300 was stolen. We reported this to the front desk and they said they couldn't do anything. We then called the cops and they searched our room like we we're hiding the money. We were never compensated for anything. My friends and I had no money to eat breakfast or any meals and they didn't do anything to help us. They were rude and not helpful at all.

The breakfast buffet was somewhat limited for people who don't care for chiles on everything.

I was at this hotel with a total group of 7 people. Three stayed in a room and four in another. The ones that had the three (2 adults, 1 child) were given a room with two beds. The other 4 adults were given a room with one bed and a couch that has a pull out bed. Well the couch that has the pull out bed was as hard as a rock. My friend was able to feel the wires when she layed down. She spent all week sleeping on the sofa. I went and asked the front desk if there is any way we can get a room with two beds and they said that they only had one and they would see about changing us to another room that had a better sofa bed. This was on Monday (we arrived on Saturday the 11th of June) We left on Saturday, June 18 and never heard from anyone. Also, the refrigerator was not running good, all of our food spoiled. Also, we had to be careful not to take a shower while someone blow dried their hair because the light will go off. Another thing that I was really upset with was that there was a tremendous difference with the staff members. When we arrived, the guy at the counter was rude. I saw someone going to turn in an iron at the front desk, I was just behind him, and asked the same rude guy if I could borrow an iron and he told me there was not one. I told him that I just saw someone turning it in and he literally told me that was not an iron but a hair dryer. WOW! He lied in front of my face after I saw someone turning in an iron. The rooms were clean and it is a convenient hotel but I believe if I am going to spend my money I should get what is needed. For example, we constantly had to ask for towels and sheets (for my friend to sleep on the sofa)! It was a bad experience and I do not think I will use this hotel again.

My family stayed at this villas in early June 2005. Overall we found it enjoyable. The staff was helpful and friendly, EXCELLENT BEACH, clean rooms, nice pool, good for families. The downside was in regards to the restaurant. We had gone there without an all-inclusive, but were sold on the plan upon arrival. It was misleading, in that it describes 2 restaurants, one by the beach and one in the hotel. When in actuality, the restaurants are one in the same, they just relocate during mid-day beach hours. So, same menu, same food for 3 days!

My husband and I stayed at the Ambiance Villas 5/18 - 5/27, and we were extremely pleased. Like the other reviews say, it is not a luxury hotel. The rooms are clean, housekeeping is very efficient, and an extra touch is the cute decorations the maids make with the towels and tissues. We had no trouble communicating with the front desk people in English. ----- I believe things have changed some since the reviewers who had things stolen wrote their reviews. My husband left his wallet in the van that dropped us off from the airport, and the concierge, Javier, went out of his way to get it back. He called the shuttle company three times, he called the American Embassy, and he instructed us how to make a police report so that my husband would be able to get back to the US without his photo ID. Two days later, some passengers found the wallet and turned in to the driver (not the same one we had), who then called into the shuttle office and discovered that Javier had left all those messages. The driver stopped by the hotel on one of his runs and returned the wallet. A few dollars were missing, but the credit cards and ID were all there and had not been used. ----- The beach is beautiful here, quiet, deep and well-kept. The only drawback is the luxury condos they are building next door, which causes quite a bit of noise during the day, between 8 and 6. However, it didn't really bother me too much. ----- Traveler's tips: DON'T make long distance calls from the hotel phone, and especially, DON'T use the phone in the lobby - they charge $20 per minute for calls to the US. Get yourself a TelMex card, which you can slide through many of the public phones easily. DON'T use the hotel internet in the lobby. It costs 10 pesos for 10 minutes and it is VERY difficult to use, so you end up wasting money. There are 2 internet cafes within walking distance that charge the same amount. One is better than the other (has air conditioning, rather than an open store front). Ask Javier for directions.

The villas are not bad especially if you are going with a family. The suites have complete kitchens which can save you a lot of money if you eat in at all. They don't have an all-inclusive plan and only have limited eating facilities on hand. There are great restaurants, shops, bars, and clubs within a 5-10 min walk. One of the best locations in Cancun. ----- The beach was the best in Cancun! We visited other beaches and no other place took as much care of their beach as the Ambiance Villas. There were never any crowds or shortage of beach chairs. Never more than a dozen people so it felt like you had your own private beach. They have a pool which like the property itself was clean, but again nothing fancy like you'd find in one of the higher end resorts. ----- The only downside was the staff. They weren't rude, but they were a bit standoffish. The staff was not fluent in English as were the staffs at some of the other resorts we visited. ----- All in all, a nice place to stay... especially if you're on a budget.

Within 10 minutes of check-in at the Ambiance Villas, my travel bag’s pocketbook was stolen out of my room. I lost all my cash, many credit cards, my drivers license, antibiotics for an ear infection, $1000.00 worth of gift certificates, 2 pair of very expensive sunglasses, my insurance card and many other personal items too numerous to name. I also lost a vacation that I worked hard for because someone at this hotel decided they wanted what I had. I realized the security here were in disbelief that it could be one of their employees as I was in disbelief all my things were gone. They were useless in recovering any of my items. They at least drove me to the police station two days later (because I put up a fuss) so I could report the crime. They did nothing about it and the police did nothing about. It was scary in that anything could happen and they weren't about to do anything about it.

Ambiance Villas is a great place to stay and the best beach in Cancun or anywhere for that matter.

We found Ambiance Villas to be a wonderful place to vacation. The overall value was exceptional. The beach, service and views can't be beat.

10 of us stayed at the Ambiance Villas Cancun in January 2004. The beach was nice. The concierge was fantastic! But I still was not entirely happy. We were told over the phone that the 3-story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath villa has 3 floors only to find out that the building is three stories tall but your villa is only on one floor. No big deal - but they purposely mislead us. The kicker though was that we had over $400 stolen and the hotel didnt much care. Majority of the money was stolen out of the safe! And all the GM could do was tell me that it was impossible. If you go - dont take cash. If you take cash dont trust this hotel with it. They are thieves!
