We just returned from a 5 night stay. July 5 - July 10th 2005. We were dumped off at the Avalon Grand, and had to walk 1/4 mile to the other resort. Once we walked in our room, there was no air-conditioning, we were told it was on. It was 100 degree outside, with a heat index of 110. we were on the top floor. The Jacuzzi, that was a joke, make sure you bring rubber boots, or you'll take something back for life. We were starving, and wanted a cold drink, only 1 bottled water in fridge, there was no cold drink. If you drink beer, the Beach bar or belle vista has Corona, other wise it's bud light, modelo, or xxx's beer. No one could tell us where to go to eat. We pretty much had to find our own way, the lobby bar was hardly ever open, we ate at the Bistro downstairs, it was ok, then later found the Belle vista, you have to go up to the Avalon Grand, pass through and outside at the back and down the stairs, this was pretty good food, better at breakfast. But there was no air-conditioning in either of these restaurants. Oh, and it doesn't matter that it's all-inclusive, if you want some foods, seafood, lobster and steak, there is a 25 dollar surcharge. The drinks at Belle vista wasn't all that good, but if you could find the pool bar open, they made good margaritas, and down the stairs to the beach, Juan at the Beach Snack bar, nice guy, he made the margaritas with more tequila. We met some very nice people who had the same complaints as we did. We enjoyed ourselves, but the accommodations could have been a lot better.
