I don’t know what people expect on a holiday. I looked at the reviews and was worried that I had booked at the Blue Bay Club. It was a lovely hotel. The food was ok. The beaches were cleaned every morning. Seaweed does come out the sea. The entertainment staff worked very hard every day. Everyone we met had a great time. I would go back again and also the shuttle bus goes every hour, the taxis are cheap too.

My advice is to spend the extra money for convenience. The Blue Bay Club Cancun is all alone in the middle of nowhere. Therefore, taxi service is double to and from this resort. They offer a boat ride to the sister property but it was broke the entire time I was there. The sister property is not much better. It is adult only because they always have lewd contests. I have never seen so many naked men gathered in one place! Neither property has nice beaches. My friend and I snuck onto the beautiful beaches on the other side of Cancun. This was inconvenient because the beach is really hot and we had no access to shade or drinks. Overall, the trip was fun but it was not due to the hotel in any way. I am returning to Cancun in May 05, and have made sure not to book anything on the same side of Cancun that this hotel is on because of the beaches.

Blue Bay Club was an OK place to stay. Food was hit and miss, but if you make reservations to eat you will be pleased. I didn’t find the beach terrible; it’s a good place for the family, fairly quite. If you want to have more fun and party go to the Getaway, better music, more going on. Adult only.

My wife and I spent a week at the Blue Bay Club in Feb, 2003. The rooms were above average and the food was acceptable. The beach has eroded in the last couple of years and there is little left. The pool is on the east side of the building and in the afternoon is in the shade. This is annoying if you are looking 'fun in the sun'. The staff were excellent and the entertainment 'superior'. This resort is one of the oldest in Cancun and has a good reputation. They offer a free bus and boat shuttle service to the 'adults-only' sister resort, Blue Bay Getaway. I would not recommend this resort because most people going to Cancun go for the beaches and you find none here.

Very clean, good room service, excellent entertainment, wide selection of food and drink. Lots to do. I strongly recommend you spend a holiday at the Blue Bay Club Cancun.
