Stayed in room 1714 got broken into. The manager would not help still won't help. The Police would not even come to the hotel. To this day I am still fighting with them to try to get something. About $3500.00 worth of stuff got stolen they told me that it was an inside job. WILL NEVER GOT BACK TO EL PUEBLITO CANCUN. Had 13 people with me 5 rooms could not get towels or hot water. There was no place to get food or drink after everything the bar closes. If you wanted to go to the store nothing was in walking distance. No refrigerator in the rooms no vending machine no ice machine, so drinks you got from the store you had to drink hot. On top of my stuff getting stolen they told me that I should have taken my stuff to the front desk for them to watch. So if you go and have to stay here remember if it will not fit in the safe take it to the front desk and if it comes up missing you might get better results then what I am getting. Head of security is the one who told me this. Oh and do not sit around waiting on the police like they tell you to because they never show up. I sat around for the last 2 days of my vacation waiting on them. If you have to take out a police report you have to go by yourself regardless if you speak Spanish or not. I suggest that on any vacation you do not use vacation express because they did not help at all.

Wow. If you go to Cancun do not go to El Pueblito. Horrible resort.. cement beds .. the ocean has huge rocks in it .. very dirty. The food was awful!! The soda was all watery and when you asked for BOTTLED WATER they give you a glass of water. But the people that worked there were very kind and very helpful especially Marc and Brian (Hose).

Worst vacation in our lives, don't stay at El Pueblito Cancun. We just got back 2 days ago. If we could have got a plane out of there sooner we would have. We went 2 days without washcloths, the maid came back into our room after cleaning it...why? We don't know. Food is awful everywhere we ate, was hot no air. Black birds everywhere trying to eat off our plates. After dark, the mosquitoes were bad. We killed 3 roaches in our room. It’s the vacation from hell that cost over two thousand dollars.

I read all the reviews before going to El Pueblito Cancun and thought people were being picky; well, use caution, first night there could not sleep from the noise, it was all young people, second day well I was in the room and in the shower the maid stole our safe key, front desk were extremely rude and demanded 100 US to open the safe, they did not care about the theft at all. Food was good the rest of the staff were friendly, especially Jorge and Ivan, the activities were awful, there was no shade on the beach, water was rough, but enjoyed it a lot, not suitable for weak swimmers, rooms were okay, I was not expecting the Hilton, so no complaints about the rooms. Grounds were slippery and dangerous, use caution. Lots of drunks and kids getting drunk, very loud all night. I would never stay there again, will miss the bartenders and wait staff and travel agents, they were A1. It’s too bad, because with honest maids and good front desk staff and not so many drunks the place would’ve been ok, I enjoyed myself regardless, kept my spirits up!

El Pueblito hotel is horrible. I have never stayed in a hotel that did not provide an elevator. The bed was HARD, it did not bounce. No towels, no hot water, no water pressure, the bathrooms were horrible. The food was bad, the alcohol was watered down and you will not get drunk. You cannot make a phone call unless you buy a calling card, and stand in a small store 101 degrees inside and sweat to death while calling your family and telling them you just paid for vacation hell. Not a recommendation I would make and if a travel agent suggests it, walk away and find another agent because they do not know what they are talking about.

My friend and I went to El Pueblito this summer, it was terrible! No towels, no blankets, food was horrible and to top it off, there was a roach on top of one of the eating tables. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful.

The hotel was awful! No air any where in the hotel, I couldn't get towels, the water was hot, the tub was used and rusted, the curtains were falling down, there is so much negative to say about El Pueblito. I would not recommend this hotel to the old or young.

I just got home from El Pueblito and it was a good party atmosphere, I had a great time with my friends, hanging out and drinking. If you go there to get wasted you probably should just drink tequila shots, otherwise you will not get drunk (advice for young kids trying to have a good time). The Food was terrible, same thing everyday. I pretty much lived off french fries for 6 days, the first thing I did when I came home was weigh myself because I thought after eating french fries for a week I would lose some weight. The bar tenders were good, nice people. The beds were hard and our air conditioner was broke. We called the front desk about 6 times and every time they said they would send someone, but they never did. The bathroom light was like a strobe light (just flickered), we did not receive wash rags, and we had to ask for towels, they did not just leave them in the room. We had 4 people staying in the room and sometimes they would only give us 2 towels. I guess if your family it doesn’t really matter but in my case we were not just a bunch of friends. I suggest if you want to visit Cancun find another hotel, I was pretty much disappointed about the trip because I could not get a good night sleep because it was to hot in our room.

My husband and I stayed at El Pueblito for 7 nights in May 2005. The all-inclusive was great, never worry about where to eat or how much it cost. The drinks were always well made, but weak. This was probably a good thing. The food was not fine cuisine but there was always something great you could enjoy. We did NOT like the special dinner. The waiter was not able to communicate with us at all; we felt it was slow and boring. Stick with the buffets. It was hot there (compared to America) and I loved the room's air conditioning. The room was basic but large, half view of the ocean from patio. The bed was very hard, difficult to sleep on. There were two large bugs that could have been roaches. We loved the pool and party atmosphere even if we are too old for such things. Games, contests, laughing, enthusiasm, it was fun. There was volleyball (sand and beach) dancing, karaoke, performances by hotel personnel. It was very easy to use the city bus system. We didn't figure out the bus to further destinations, but hated the tour packages because they so frequently were high jacking the passengers to locations nobody wanted to go to be subjected to high-pressured sales pitches for stuff that they had not prices on. I didn't like the "barter" idea at all. I want to know how much something costs. I did not like shop keepers hovering pressuring and demanding that I come in and look and buy something. Wal-Mart there was made for people like me. We loved the ruins at Chichen Itza but it was blistering hot and we didn't get to stay there long enough as we had to be held up in market after market and a dreadful included dinner. The Cenote Ik Kil was a highlight of the trip, we were so hot anyways and it was so lovely and cool. People were allowed to jump in and swim there, that surprised me but it was wonderful. The hotel staff at el pueblito was very efficient, prompt and helpful (but we were somewhat language challenged on many instances). There was a lot of pressure to attend a time share sales presentation, pushy and demanding pressure applied over and over. One should be very firm about saying "no", they will still keep on bugging you. The ocean was great, but we did get a very nasty itchy red rash upon arriving home which was diagnosed as "sea lice" which was larvae of jellyfish. There was no visible indication that there was jellyfish in the water, but the larvae stuck to persons whatever skin the swimsuit covered. Lots of girls were complaining as they got out of the water that they felt "burning". The solution would have been to wash off the skin immediately, all of it. But we only rinsed in the faucets and the skin under swimsuit was affected. It was like a case of poison ivy, lasts a week and doesn't pop open and ooze. Itches dreadful, spreads some. Not nice at all. We had never been to Mexico or Cancun before, we think this hotel would be great for younger people and young at heart who want a busy party atmosphere, fun and games. The partying did not last into the night, the real partiers were bussed to hot spots or night clubs down closer to Cancun for late night revels. At el pueblito the bars closed at midnight and opened with breakfast. It was really easy to drink quite a few tropical mixed drinks because it was so hot, and no consequences really as there was very little alcohol involved.

I stayed at El Pueblito on May 25-June 1, 2005. Overall I really enjoyed this all-inclusive resort and had a very relaxing time. Here are my thoughts/suggestions about my stay: 1.The rooms were very simple with no radios or remotes for the television. They did however have a small lock box to use, which I would recommend. --- 2.The resort is mostly consisted of young couples and young (high schoolers and college) adults. This makes for some noisy evenings and crazy days by the pool, so if you are looking for a quiet nights sleep I would not recommend this place. --- 3.Food: Awesome! They had two buffets (one Mexican and one American). There are two restaurants that you could make reservations for from 7:00 - 9:00 AM. I would recommend doing this as it's a more intimate dinner setting with a menu and wine. --- 4.Drinks: They were all well made and it was very easy to order drinks throughout the day. Drinks are served from 7:00 AM to midnight. --- 5.Pesos or Dollars? You only need pesos to ride the city bus. You get a much better exchange rate when you use American Dollars. For example: When we rented a car it was $40.00 and it was $46.00 is pesos (460 pesos). --- 6.If you want to got to Tulum (where the Mayan ruins are) take the bus. It's much cheaper. One of the travel agents stated that it costs around $4.00 to get there and they will charge you an arm and a leg to return....That’s FALSE. It about 80 miles south of this resort and it's much cheaper to just take the bus there and back versus renting a car (and safer). --- 7.They had a lot of fun activities (water volleyball, water aerobics, beach volleyball) going on everyday and a 3-4 contests during the day at the main pool. These are to fun to watch! They also have nightly shows that usually start around 9:00 PM that the resort staff puts on. I was very impressed with their costumes and dancing! See these. All in all I felt this was a very fun and relaxing resort. I would go there again!

Human waste processing center (or used water treatment) across the street.... when the wind blows hold your nose! Avoid El Pueblito at all costs... except if you are a student on a budget!

We just got back from Cancun yesterday and we loved El Pueblito hotel. Everyone is so friendly there. The food was OK, but honestly... who goes to Cancun for the food? It was a lot of fun and a good price.

My husband and me just got back from Cancun, Jan 30,2005. We stayed at the El Pueblito. At first site I did not like. But the next few days were good. The hotel is an old hotel, still has keys for the doors (not key cards). The food was ok. Never could get hot water for showers. The service of the people was great, they wait on you hand and foot Really all together Cancun is not my cup of tea at all. I don’t think I would ever just decide that it would be my next trip.

I went to El Pueblito Cancun from January 8 to 15 and all I can say is that it was fun from the beginning to the end. Don't pay attention to people who think that this hotel was a nightmare.

El Pueblito is a very affordable place to stay in Cancun. To be totally honest the food is terrible, however, the service is great because they have such a friendly staff. I do recommend it to younger people. We went there our senior year of college with a group of friends, we had a wonderful time. If you are looking for an affordable hotel, friendly staff, and close to the nightlife than I would recommend it.

Hotel El Pueblito is great! For a spring breaker you cant beat the price. We got two rooms for 4 people for only 940 pp. The swim up bar is perfect and the food is good. This hotel is a great place to go if you’re looking to party and meet people. The service is also very friendly.

Sorry don't go! Just got back from El PueblitoCancun, Sunday Nov 7/05. Main pool under construction, no warning, no compensation, not even an apology. Sunquest only offered Imperial Las Perlas as option. Bar service is a joke, food is OK but repetitive. Main desk staff rude, balance of staff OK. Pick anywhere else. Good luck.

I have been to El Pueblito twice. It is a very basic hotel but the rooms are spot-less and the food is excellent. Staff will make you food if you do not like what is on the menu. The rooms are cleaned daily, fresh bedding and towels are provided on a daily basis with the towels arranged as swans! Even the toilet roll is made into a fan shape! The hotel and surroundings are very clean. Even the pool area is spotless. Had an excellent time here would go back in the future! Rooms are decorated to a Mexican village theme outside. While inside they are neutral colored and spacious. The a la carte restaurants especially the Chinese is a must! Holiday of a lifetime made perfect by all mentioned above.

I can't understand why some people really put El Pueblito down. All I can say is we've just returned home from there and I’d go back tomorrow if I could. It was a lovely hotel, the staff was friendly, the rooms were nice and clean and as for the food OK. I admit it wasn't the best but it was OK.

Spent 2 weeks at El Pueblito Cancun and loved every minute. Food good, staff very polite, rooms basic but very clean, beach is fantastic. Don't take any notice of snobby people who think they should pay bottom prices and get a palace.

Once you check in at El Pueblito - check out again. Take a taxi to the ferry that will bring you to Isla Mujeres within 15 mins. Check in to Cabanas Maria del Mar and you have done yourself a favor for lifetime. We traveled form Mexico City to Yucatan by car and there is no doubt that Pueblito was the worst and Maria del Mar the best among the many hotels in various regions we tried on the entire trip.

We came. We looked. We did not even ask for a refund of our paid reservations; we simply went to another hotel. We were smart. Our friends wished that they had left El Pueblito.

The Hotel El Pueblito is the best Mexican hotel I have ever visited. I went there last year and will come back there next year. It is great, good food, great beach and pools, great lifeguard (he saved 2 Mexicans on the beach last March). Evening shows are wonderful (they even imitate Ike and Tina Turner!!!), great bedrooms with air conditioner and good bathrooms. The staff is very helpful. Although Cancun is not typically Mexican, El Pueblito is in an Hacienda style and always make us welcome. With El Pueblito, our trip to Mexico was a paradise!

El Pueblito hotel ok, food crap, try to get any repairs done to phone or air conditioner and you have problems had to ask to be transferred to another room after 6 attempts to get them to fix air con and failed. Telephone still not working in room even though asked. Beach fantastic, service in bars good, pool restaurant good because you can get English food of chips and hot dogs and burgers. Staff are very helpful and give advice on services out of Hotel.

I dont know why everyone has negative comments to make about hotel El Pueblito. When I went I didnt think it was as bad as everyone put it out to be. This was a trip that is going to be remembered forever by me.

… Hell on Earth is El Pueblito in Cancun. A sleepless night with the hotel door and the window wide open, just to get so much air I could breathe. 31 degrees at midnight. But at least nicer than the 35 degrees, when we arrived. "I want to get out of here", was the first words I said to my husband, when we opened our eyes in the morning. We stole a ventilator, and we managed to get some sleep the following night. My brother and sister in law slept on the floor - or more correctly - they tried. Now, a month later, I still cant believe, a hotel like El Pueblito exists. You could produce at least five programs called "Holiday Nightmare" staring El Pueblito. Save your money or do find another hotel. And if you ever win a trip to Cancun and have to stay in hotel El Pueblito - give that trip to your worst enemy.

Dont go to El Pueblito if you are over the age of 20. It could be a great place to stay if you just want to meet other youngsters. Cancun has nothing to do with Mexico and this is the worst example to the lack of Mexican atmosphere. It is cheap and meant for young people; they get what they want: Nothing but a nice sun tan and a couple of cheap experiences.

When we first arrived at El Pueblito it wasnt what we expected, the showers didnt work, the food was horrible and our money got stolen.. Even though we were having the worst luck we managed to make it a fun and memorable experience. We met great people and became a big happy family, everyone was so nice that the little inconveniences didnt seem to matter. Thanks to the fun and exciting entertainment staff... If your young, and want to meet lifetime friends stay at El Pueblito…
Liz & Olga, babydukes8@aol.com, 2003-08-07
El Pueblito Cancun is about the worst hotel we have visited in all of Mexico. Upon arrival they couldnt find reservation, the room had an average temp of 35 degrees C and a humidity around 90 percent. Air conditioner didnt work and little did it help to file a complaint to front desk. We "stole" a fan from one of the restaurants. Beach towels were not available. Food and drink was far below what humans should expect. But it seems to be a perfect hangout for hooligans and bikers.

Excellent attention and food at El Pueblito Cancun. Very good atmosphere and evening shows!... One of the best all-inclusive hotels in Cancun!
Alejandro Pineda, alpinaxy@hotmail.com, 2003-07-20
I have never been in a place like El Pueblito, everybody is very kind and have a smile while they serve you. The hotel facilities are great, everything is in a colonial style, very mexican, go and visit this place.

El Pueblito was wonderful. The staff was attentive and the food was wonderful. We were on our anniversary and they treated us like a king and queen.
Dolly Rolan, mrsirishlady@webtv.net, 2003-05-01
The food was average at El Pueblito. The help was below average. And just to let you know, they are real jerks when it comes to having guests come to your room.

El Pueblito is a great hotel, excellent in all ways, food, service, bar, installations, etc... If you want to have a great time in Cancun, go there.
David, e-mail withheld, 2003-04-10
Do not go to El Pueblito! While the resort is nice, the food is terrible and the bars are just plain unhygienic! One of them has only two shot glasses which they dont even wash between servings!
Unsatisfied, e-mail withheld, 2003-04-04
I loved El Pueblito. The food had its off days but when it had its on days they were on! There was never a long wait at the bars the scenery was gorgeous! Room service could of used a little work but for college kids on their spring break we didnt mind so much ;)
Stefanie, e-mail withheld, 2003-03-31
I disagree. I feel that the bar was very nice at the El Pueblito, people were friendly and accurate, clean rooms, food is wonderful.
