I went there on Feb of 2006 and had lots of fun in this hotel. I don't know why there are people that say is a rat hole, Flamingo is really nice.

We just returned from 8 days in at Flamingo Cancun. Holes in towels, rooms not made up until 3 pm each day. Bad food. Pool area dirty. We had a leak in the bath ceiling and after numerous requests and 5 hours later they fixed the leak. The only guests that liked the place were teenagers on vacation because they could drink, get drunk and cause problems until 2 am each night. How anybody can give this hotel a "thumbs up" is beyond me... My wife and I have traveled around the world 5 times and been in 53 countries. Our hotel in Egypt and China made this place look like a rat hole for 1/3 the price. Save your money!

We have been staying at the Flamingo ever since we started going to Cancun, and we would not stay anywhere else. They are so accommodating, we feel like royalty. We have been going three times a year and always receive the royal treatment. We love you flamingo and the gang who welcomes us!

The Flamingo Cancun was great for the money. It is an older hotel, however, so be warned that rooms aren't totally top of the line. Beach was fairly uncrowded and good restaurants and shopping is nearby. But one thing -- watch our for the high-pressure time-share sales people.

We were at Flamingo Cancun February 2005. ----- Bad things: 1.It took al most 45 min to check in due to only one person checking people in. They only have two stations for check in. 2.If you want to use internet bring lots of money as it cost 10 for 10:00 min. 3.Your cell phones won’t work so bring a calling card that works outside the US. 4.Rooms were cold no heat. 5.No iron or iron board in room had to ask for one. 6.No coffee pot in room 7.No blankets in room. 8.Outside doorways made it very hard to sleep due to people making noise in hallway. 9.Restaurants need more items on the menu. 10.Could not eat at the nice Restaurants at night due to it was too small. 11.Pool is not in a sunny area very cold. 12. Look out at the airport for time-shares people try to get to you before you get out of the airport. Don’t give them any money! Go outside for your ride. 13.Need more chairs on beach. 14.No one to check on you down at the beach to order food or drinks. 15.Not EQT to use had it locked up, why I don’t know. 16. People were looking for tips even when they are told don’t ask. 17.Stubborn and rude staff. 18.If you are over 25 don’t come here. ----- Good things: 1.Location not bad close to shops, bars, and bus stops. 2.View from rooms was very nice. 3.Tour people very nice. 4. Ok bar in room with drinks only beer and coke. 5.Good size room and bathroom. 6.Felt very safe in area. 7.Nightly entertainment ok.

We were at this hotel in January 2005. Awesome place; we felt right at home was treated very nicely, was a clean hotel room was the best oceanfront view with a pool outside our sliding glass door. Food was wonderful many different selections, people there were great. Treated you like royalty. We will definitely be back. Location of the hotel was perfect right next to nice restaurants, fun clean bars, nice little mall across the street. Flamingo you are a winner.

The hotel Flamingo appeared nice, however, they seemed to not like money, or understand the term customer retention. Upon arrival, our friends checked into the hotel next door (a much nicer place) and came by to see how our hotel looked and to have some drinks in our room. We waited for a while and finally we were called by one of our friends. It seems that the staff at the Flamingo does not allow anyone in their lobby that is not a guest and refused entry to our guests after repeated requests. Even threatening them with a call to the police. The next evening, we ordered pizza and had it delivered, but once again, the staff at this hotel would not allow the pizza delivery person to proceed to our room. What would happen if you'd met someone while out on the town? Would they not be allowed in? What if there was a problem in booking the hotel and an extra person had to be added on? I have never observed a more stubborn and rude staff. Why stay at this hotel, when you can get treated like you should at one of the many other hotels along this stretch of beach for the same price or less?

Staff on desk, bartenders, waiters and baggage handlers went beyond to make us feel we were VIP's. Rooms were well-kept and high grade. The guests were open to chat, drink leisurely, and share a table for dinner or elsewhere. January of 2005 and hope to get back next month to Flamingo Cancun.

I am one of those repeat vacationers. In February, I will once again stay at the Flamingo Cancun. Excellent location for everything you want to see & do in Cancun. Great ocean view rooms. Try to reserve one if you can. They are in high demand. Wonderful staff & the meals are very good. Whenever I return, it feels like I'm visiting family. It may not be as fancy as other resorts in Cancun but I wouldn't stay anywhere else. If you wan to enjoy the Caribbean & have a relaxed but fun atmosphere, this is the place. Give it a try!

My friends and I stayed at the Flamingo Cancun Resort in June of 2000. We loved the resort! The staff was very nice and helpful. The food was great and we had a ocean view & beach front room. It was fabulous. Not to mention we are mature adults and it was nice to be in a environment without too many teenagers and college students. We are planning another trip for this year in November.

We stayed at the Flamingo Cancun Nov 1-11, 2003. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly, including everyone from the hotel manager to housekeeping. We met many people who were repeat vacationers using this hotel. Thanks for a great vacation!

I have stayed at the villas plaza numerous times in the past, prior to the hotel becoming all inclusive. I absolutely loved it there and never had a problem with any room I had there. Last My wife and I decided to stay at the Flamingo Cancun this past March 2003 at the urging of our travel agent and others that have stayed there and are we ever sorry we did that. We are returning to the Villas Plaza in April of 2004 for a ten night stay and are looking forward to it.
