First the bad points, we got violently sick along with MANY other guests for 4 days, I can only assume that this was down to the recent hurricane (Emily), the food is awful and the entertainment staff wont leave you alone, also, there is only one type of beer on offer, Corona. Now the good points, the beach is awesome, no rocks or pollution, the hotel staff work very hard there to make things nice for the guests and the rooms were kept spotless by the cleaners. Playa Del Carmen is around a 15 min walk down the beach but it’s a great beach as I said. The hotel was relatively quiet when we went compared to the others on the route to playa, which meant the sun loungers were plentiful on the beach. I would recommend this hotel once it has been fixed up from the hurricane damage (which I would think is about the time of writing this review). Oh and the day out planning guy at the hotel is great. (If you go to Xcaret, take a taxi rather than the hotel bus).

It is hard to give the hotel Reef Coco Beach a thumbs up or down. It lacks anything special. My family stayed here in Dec. 04. The resort is a small quiet one. Rooms were clean and well kept. Not much to do there though. The activities and shows were not as good as some of the bigger hotels. The food was not very good, not much variety (as compared to other resorts along the Riviera). The beach and pool were nice. Plenty of chairs by the pool and easy to get a spot. We never really had difficulty finding a spot on the beach either. It was nice that Playa del Carmen is so close. We walked along the beach and made it to the shopping center there. I would recommend the hotel if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful stay. Not for those seeking action/adventure.

The beach area was fantastic, very clean and well kept up. My only complaint was the food. It was very unappealing, and never seemed to change! The snack bar was great. It was a great holiday and the Reef Coco Beach is a great place to stay.

We went for our honeymoon to Reef Coco Beach...it was very nice. We would stay there again! The only problems we had was when we checked in they gave us a room with 2 double beds and when we checked out they told us to leave our luggage in the room & they'd bring it up but they forgot. It's definitely geared more for families than couples, but it was great. Friendly staff, great food and drinks and relaxing atmosphere!
