From Canada, 1st night we arrived inside staff unlocked our room and stole a hidden wallet $500 along with our Calvin Klein cologne. A dozen people were cleaned out on their first night. Hotel management they're not responsible, police will do nothing. Our room was locked. Fellow travelers were great, food was uneatable (cold hot dogs). All inclusive drinks =yellow rum cokes, hotel bar which closes early in the night, so you can't use it. Beach is terrible, beside boats/seaweed. But you can walk and use others no problem. Would come back, because it is soo cheap, but much wiser.

I made a reservation with ABNHotels.com in March 6 / 2006 to stay at the Hotel Imperial Las Perlas in Cancum. I received the Confirmation # IMPE5-51141712090166 and they charged my credit card for 3 days of hotel that same day. In March 18 we arrived at the hotel: At 7 P.M. and the hotel in charged person Mr. Jaime Ramirez told us we had not a reservation, that they where full and had no rooms. I show them the voucher from the internet, and reservation number. They just did not want to accept. I ask them to make a call to ABNHotels.com they did not want, I insisted and they charge my 2.5 dll/minute the call was 45 dlls. At the end they just negated every thing about my reservation. They say they did not receive it. I will never make a reservation into this hotel, they just don’t care for the clients, is the worst attention I ever received in a hotel.

There was a group of 6 of us from Canada. We got to Imperial Las Perlas on Jan 26th/05 & were on the 4th floor (no elevators); in 2 of the 3 rooms there was no hot water and the toilet's were not flushing & the kitchenette was a dirty hot plate. We complained to the Sunquest rep & were moved to the main floor, she said she was not allowed in the rooms. We heard lots of complaints from others. The rooms and sewer system definitely need to be updated. The food was good, although we got tired of the leftovers being re-cooked. Two of the guys were really great, the porter and the guy at the bar, both named Eustobia (sorry if I spelled the names wrong). The maids were Ok and kept the rooms adequately clean. Overall if a person wants a low budget holiday and they aren't too fussy about the rooms it can be enjoyable; however don't expect the rooms to look like the brochure or internet.

We chose Imperial Las Perlas Cancun through the travel agents recommendation. We arrived on the 18/10/2005 we where so excited. We liked the area and the look of the hotel and the people where friendly at the time; the manager suggested we up graded to all inclusive which we did. The manager of the hotel told us there was a storm coming but nothing to worry about. We where rushed into refuge camps in downtown Cancun late that day. We where in Hurricane Wilma which lasted for 4 days we hardly had any food or water there was no electricity or flushing toilets but we managed. We where told that we need to be rushed out of the country due to the curfew before leaving we where told that we would be refunded the upgrade and the Safety deposit box money which added up to £400.00 we received £186.00 and still waiting for the rest. The staff where happy taking our money but not happy giving it back after they had promised.

We stayed for 3 days at Imperial Las Perlas. The hotel is nice for budget lodging. The room was nice and clean, and the food is quite good. The only disadvantage of the hotel is the beach. The water is not so clear and azure, and there were algae. But overall we had a good stay.

I stayed at the Imperial Las Perlas and the appearance of the hotel room was disappointing. The toilet was leaking. We put towels down to prevent slipping and falling. The air conditioning did not work. The beds were like cement. We went to Wal-Mart to purchase face towels because they did not have any. We complained for 2 days and were finally moved to a better room. This was the worst hotel ever. When I travel to Cancun again we will definitely stay at a 5-star hotel.

This hotel is basic but at the same time, perfect if you are on a budget. We did not have any problems with the maids and there is a safe in your room. The rooms were cleaned every day and the dishes washed :) The staff is really friendly and always willing to help. The entertainment is good although slightly repetitive. At nights you can pay at the desk to go clubbing, VIP style. This is definitely worth it. The beach at Las Perlas was cleaned every day. The water here is not as crystal clear as it is further down the coast but it is only a five minute journey on the bus. There was a really bad smell that came into our room every day but this seems to be the case around most of Cancun. All in all this hotel was great but only if you are not a nitpicker.

I loved it there. All the staff was awesome. We had a great room no problems what so ever. I met so many new people and went to lots of clubs. I know that I will be coming back to Las Perlas!

Las Perlas was the worst hotel ever. All the websites say it’s a 3 and a half star, but it’s only a 2 star at best. Food sub par and unfriendly staff. The maids steal from the rooms and are very unfriendly, lost a camera and a palm from the room. Beach passable, very little beach. Room was like a wind tunnel and air screamed through it, had to stuff towels around patio doors. Asked for a different room but given a choice overlooking the garbage dump!

Imperial Las Perlas was mediocre. The good things: A/C worked well in room, running water, hot shower, clean room. Bad things: Toilet overflowed the first day, minor ant problem. This is a simple place so don't expect much. The manager tried to give us a crappy room first, with dead bugs, lights that didn't work and a musty smell. But the bellhop told us we might want a different room. Luckily we got a better one. I would shop around. Next time I go to Cancun, I'm either upgrading or staying at a hostel. Oh, and although this place is on the beach and relatively close to Ciudad Cancun, I recommend finding somewhere closer into the hotel zone, where everything is happening.

This was an awful experience , I travel a lot and Imperial Las Perlas was the worst I have ever been, they didn’t even have face clothes , the lobby was disgusting, toilets overflowed, no real beach chairs, no elevators, no good running water, one of my friends room didn’t even have air condition they brought a fan to the room. I feel like us-air or somebody owes me a complete refund of the money. Only good thing was the people were friendly i am thinking because this is all they knew. Even the concierge said the place was a dump, now when staff says that is pathetic. So please what ever you do don’t go back or better yet don’t go there

I would never go back to Imperial Las Perlas, it was awful. The beds were like steal hard as rock just like the pillows. The lights sometimes it would even turn on, you'll have to turn it on and off so it could come on. But the food was good. That was the only thing good about the hotel. The staff was friendly that also. Also bathrooms were bad, sometimes cold water. That is a bad hotel to go to.

Yes, it is true!! You get what you pay for.....the pictures on line are deceiving, the rooms sure looks nice ( they do not look like that when you check in ). Our stay at Imperial Las Perlas was the worst....I can't begin to explain. It was not a good experience for me or my family, we will pay for a 5 star next time. You live & learn!

Housekeepers steal at Imperial Las Perlas. Money was stolen by the housekeeper and a camera was taken from the room, beware do not go there, very rude desk clerk! Travelcomm does not have it all together either had a lot of trouble, keep up with phone calls and make sure everything is set to go the 45 days in advance. Spend the extra money and take a cruise.

Imperial Las Perlas is a very good bargain. Food was average but facilities, staff and accommodations were very good.

The old bait and switch. Beware of their special rate through travelcomm. We called to confirm 2 days before travel date. When we arrived at Imperial Las Perlas we were taken to the not so lovely Dos Playas. We were given a terrible room the first night. The staff was terrible. It was as if over booking is normal business for this hotel. Travelcomm and Las Perlas are questionable business partners.

Imperial Las Perlas hotel was the worst hotel ever. All the websites say it’s a 3 and a half star, but it’s only a 2 star. Worst food I’ve ever eaten, really bad drinks, and unfriendly staff. The maids steal from the rooms and are very unfriendly.

I stayed at the hotel Imperial Las Perlas from 2/22/04 to 2/29/04. I found it to be a great value. The staff was friendly and helpful and out to please when they could. Although this is a three star hotel, I was treated as well as I have been in any five star hotel. The food was excellent and I enjoyed the restaurant being out over the water. I will stay here again.

My wife and I had reservations at Imperial Las Perlas. When we arrived, we were told the hotel was overbooked. We were taken to another hotel, Dos Playas, The first night we were put in a room with a broken latch on the window, with construction activities all night long outside the window. We complained the next morning about not being at the hotel we had reservations for and about the room size and no kitchenette, no alarm clock, no clock radio, no refrigerator, no mini bar, no hair dryer, no ironing board or iron, no cookware or dishes. These were all included in the room description we viewed before deciding to stay at the Imperial Las Perlas. The Dos Playas hotel description was the other available hotel on the plan I had purchased. Prior to the trip my wife and I chose the Imperial Las Perlas over the Dos Playas hotel, only to find us stuck there for our entire vacation. We are very displeased with the service we received, compared to what we were promised.

We stayed at Imperial Las Perlas from 1/29/04 to 2/4/04. We were supposed to stay there beginning on 1/28/04, but as soon as we arrived they quickly sent us to another hotel called Dos Playas by the rude day staff with little to no explanation. Dos Playas (we were told) is an affiliate of Imperial Las Perlas of the same quality. We didnt find the same quality at this facility. We arrived at our room and found the beds unmade and a clogged toilet. Just when we thought the toilet was fixed, it overflowed into our room. After a long discussion we were finally allowed to return to the hotel we paid for to begin with, Imperial Las Perlas. After a stressful day and a half we found the room at the Imperial to be adequate, but it didnt make up for the stress. P.S. The bed bug literally do bite.

My first visit to Cancun. I was truly amazed by the water and for the most part, the majority of the people were hospitable. The hotel Imperial Las Perlas was inexpensive and I should have known that you get what you pay for! My room, although clean, had no hot water 5 out of the 7 days I stayed. As well, the in-room fridge could not even keep the cerveza half cool. Even after numerous calls to the front desk and management - on my checkout day, I was not surprised that again I had to have a cold shower. The food was good and over-all the staff friendly - would not recommend to any friends, nor would I stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at Imperial Las Perlas and we truly enjoyed it. It is clean, hospitable, and the food is great. The cost was low but for someone like us who just wants good food and a clean place to stay it is excellent. We enjoyed the beach but most of the time we were on the move exploring the area and visiting the pyramids.

I stayed at the Imperial Las Perlas about 9 years ago because it was cheap. It is fine for that purpose but I found I spent most of my time going elsewhere. The beach area is OK in a pinch but not like the beaches on the east. Actually due to dangerous undercurrents none of the beaches in Cancun are very safe. Frankly the service and competence in all of Mexico including some really nice places is very hit and miss, but this does not stop us from having a great time. This hotel puts you affordably in Cancun but it is not the place to hang out at for a week like the posher hotels. Since I never sit still for too long I would stay here again as a base for day trips and a little R & R on the beach in a pinch.
