Melia Cozumel, formerly Paradisus Cozumel, is located on the northwest coast of the island just 3.5 miles from the town of San Miguel and Cozumel international airport, 13 miles from Chankanaab Park and 16 miles from the Mayan Ruins of San Gervasio.

It features 147 guestrooms with three different room categories to choose from. There are 88 Deluxe Rooms which include private balcony or terrace with garden or pool view, 46 Junior Suites with spectacular views of the Caribbean plus separate vanity and dressing area and 12 Paradise Suites with cozy living area and outside wooden deck with Jacuzzi.

All guestrooms have air conditioning with individual climate control, private balcony/terrace, satellite color TV with remote control, direct dial telephone, electronic safety deposit box, marble bathrooms with shower, bathtub and hair dryers and deluxe toiletries.

For your dining pleasure, the resort features three restaurants offering a variety of choices from local favorites to international cuisine. Lavish buffets are served at breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks are served throughout the day. For dinner, enjoy the gourmet restaurant with a la carte service. The resort also features five bars which serve premium brand drinks and cocktails including a swim-up pool bar, beach bar and beverage service at the Club Fantasia.

The $12 million Nicklaus-designed Cozumel Country Club is located in front of the resort and includes a club house and golf shop, botanical gardens, access roads and a 18-hole world class championship golf course with driving range and green, par 72 and 6,847 yards length. Preferred rates with exclusive advanced tee time reservations up to 180 days are available for guests of the hotel.

My wife and I spent 7 days at the Melia Cozumel and found it to be much more than our expectations. The service was excellent as well as the food. We never had any problems and the staff was always available to assist with questions about the hotel or questions about the island itself. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Cozumel. All-inclusive is the only way to go as far as we are concerned and we are planning another trip to this place sometime next spring. In my opinion, we got much more for our money than I thought we would.

Just got back from the Melia Cozumel with my husband whom had to be rushed to the hospital with 104 fever and a gash in his head from slipping on the tile floor. The hotel's doctor said that the food poisoning was due to the hotel's buffet. We did not drink the water. The hotel did not offer to pay our hospital bill, doctor bill or pharmacy bill. Even if you have insurance in the states you must pay cash there. The hotel staff was always said the manager was not there and of course the GM was never onsite. The hotel was not helpful in anyway. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone.
