Oasis Palm Beach was amazing and I would definitely go back there. I am 19 and went with two friends. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. I thought the staff was very friendly. Although it isn’t easy getting traveler cheques changed in the hotel. Cancun was beautiful and the night life in the party zone was amazing. Don’t know how anyone could fault it.

Oasis Beach hotel was great! I enjoyed every minute of my stay at this hotel. The staff was so friendly and enjoyable. I made many friends just on the staff! The rooms were very clean and always cool. Food was ok. The pool area was nice. The beach was calm and enjoyable. This last trip to Cancun was my favorite and I will continue to return to here for as long as I vacation in Cancun. Definitely recommend this hotel.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Oasis Beach. The food was varied, hot and plentiful. Our room was very clean and spacious with a stunning view of the beach and lagoon area's. We found the hotel staff very helpful, polite and continuosly trying to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The cabaret show {Mexican night} was fantastic and a special thanks to Allen, the show manager, for getting us a better table. The hotel's close proximity to downtown Cancun was a bonus. It was a woderful holiday and we have recommended this hotel to all of our friends.

First of all, I’m only 18, I went to Oasis Beach Cancun on my graduation trip with 6 friends. I speak fluent Spanish and have been to Mexico many times in the past, I knew what to expect. Our hotel room was great, the house keepers even better. The down side was the staff at the front desk. They are not only rude but they try to take advantage of you every chance they get. First they tried to charge me 100.00 because I left my hotel bracelet upstairs, even though they had my name on the computer. Words of advice: Don't cash travelers checks up front they will rip u off! I stayed from 6/15/05 through 6/22/05

We stayed 7 nights from 6/18-25 for $1300 AI, including airfare from Dallas (2 people) - how can you go wrong? I'd read the reviews and was prepared. We had a wonderful time at the Oasis Beach. Room was very clean every day, air was cold, beach was beautiful as were the pools and scenery. Newspaper under the door most days and they produced one immediately if it was forgotten. The water went off once or twice but back on in an hour. We didn't have a fancy balcony or upgrade but we could see the bay and ocean from our room. Staff was very courteous - not ingratiating - but the nicer we were to them - the better the service was. We went to the Oasis Cancun/Oasis Grand one day and were not nearly so impressed - the beach was so rough we saw a lifeguard save someone right in front of us, drunk teenagers sprawled all over the pools and 8 deep at the swim-up bar - I was so glad we weren't there. After a few days if felt like home. Great location - walk across the bridge to El Embarcadero or watch the Pirate ships go out every night. We wished by Wednesday that we'd brought our kids and their babies. Food wasn't great but what do you expect? Go south or take a cruise if you want expensive cuisine and pay for it. Watch out for the concierge and their "breakfast" at the Hyatt - it's not timeshare - oh, no - it's a points club - but we got $100 out of it to spend on excursion and saw a beautiful hotel. We would go back with family any time - LOVED IT!

We first got to the Oasis Beach Cancun after being told we were all-inclusive to find out we were not and they wanted us to pay extra for that, not! We had no shower curtain, our remote controls, yes 2, did not work, we gave up after that, our toilet, telephone, and clock did not work. They said they would fix but never showed up. We were there just before hurricane Emily hit and were suppose to stay through the big event. We bailed out early after being lied to by the staff for days. I find this hard to believe myself, but they even reprogrammed our TV so we could not watch the news channels. The news was there when we left that Saturday AM, but when we got back, our room was clean and no news channels were left. I wasn't just born, so I reprogrammed the remote to find out they were evacuating Cancun. I confronted the staff, after they had been telling us for the past 2 days that Emily was not heading to Cancun, that the Mexican government called for evacuation. They said the news was wrong. We found out later that many hotels had been evacuated 4 hours before this and they had known all along but did not want to have their business walk out early. NEVER stay at this hotel. They are lying, money hungry people that will risk your life for a few bucks.

Overall my trip to Cancun was excellent. As for the Oasis Beach Hotel there are several things I was not very pleased with. The reception area was probably one of the worst I have ever been to and I have been to many. No hospitality what so ever. Do you have any matches? I will send to you room. I am still waiting. Do you have and Iron? No! Can I upgrade my room? Sure show me some George Washington's. So I did and the guy put the $120.00 in his pocket and gave me an ocean view. The food was ok. Drinks were terrible. No A/C throughout the joint. I would not recommend this place to my friends, they would most likely not be my friends when they get back from this hotel. Housekeeping was excellent and very kind. I'm done now. Thanks for listening

You will lose a few pounds running to and from the toilet (as we was when we where there) and by having to tip bar staff so you can get a drink (not fun if your all-inclusive). The A/C gets turned off so you sweat! It is clean and tidy, the foods ok but not if your planning on staying more than a week. Go at your own risk. I wish I had seen all the reviews before I had booked, as most if not all, that give the thumbs down ARE correct. You have been warned.

Having just returned from my vacation I would like to say pay attention to other people’s comments. I am easy going and open minded but I would not recommend the Oasis Beach to anyone. Though the rooms are clean they are airless as the windows don’t open. If you are sharing more than two to a room it will be helpful if you know your traveling companions very well because you will be sharing a double bed with them! We noticed the aircon was switched off in the hotel bars around 11.00pm to discourage you from sitting up, though if you are young, you would probably have fell asleep through boredom as there is nothing else to do. The evening entertainment consists of a 1 hour dance show once a week. On the plus side the entertainment staff (all 2 of them) did cause much amusement during the day. The beach bars close at about 5.00 and the staff, with odd exceptions are rude. I am well aware of the tipping culture however with most of the bar staff (especially in the sports bar) it was more like 'no tip, no drink' whereby you would be ignored. The food was of a reasonable level but seemed a bit on the cold side and after a week became very repetitive. During our stay (May 2005) a large number of guest's became ill with the same symptoms: stomach upset, frequent visits to the bathroom, get the picture? American visitors were adamant this was due to contaminated ice cubes but avoiding them meant lukewarm drinks and no cocktails, hardly fun. I can confidently say I will never set foot in this hotel again.

Having spent two weeks at the Oasis Beach (starting 16/05/05 ) I would have to say that wasn’t that good. The food was ok and the hotel was clean and tidy. The things that let it down was that windows in the room didn’t open, the staff at the bars were not to happy to serve you unless you left a tip every time, the sports bar and lounge bar turned off the air con around 11pm so that you would leave. There was very little or nothing to do in the evening, except watch TV if you were lucky enough to get a channel in English. Overall I was disappointed and would not stay there again and would say to read all comments before booking.

All I can say about the Oasis Beach is....fantastic! Service, rooms, food, location, brilliant.

My friend and I went to Cancun as a way of getting away from family and just resting laying in the sun and drinking iced drinks. Well our trip was anything but restful. We had a ball. We were directed to some great tours at reasonable cost. We tended to not eat at the buffets, because we don't like to eat that much, so we went to the restaurants. The food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. We had many memorable meals there. The rooms were clean, nothing outstanding and we did have difficulty getting out on our telephone. The only down side of our stay, was that the Presidential Suite was booked by a wealthy family celebrating. The party started at 10PM and continued all night, with talking and laughing in the hall, etc. Each time we called the desk they came up to the suite and talked with them. After the third day and many complaints the family was asked to leave the hotel. But the good thing was that the staff always responded with every phone call and did the best they could. We found the Mexican people in the hotel and in the city to be very kind and helpful. Never did I feel as though we were being taken advantage of, even when we could not speak the language. I totally recommend the hotel. But the most important thing to remember is that it is another country and be open to new things. You won't be disappointed. Our stay at Oasis Beach Cancun was April 9-14,2005.

After reading a few bad reviews, I was hoping to get to hotel Oasis Beach and see for myself that it wasn't that bad. I'm pretty easy going and rarely complain. With that said.....First of all, the entire hotel is a smoking hotel. No problem, as long as you have one of the few rooms with a balcony. Most rooms overlooking the beach, pool or lagoon have windows that do not open!(in a smoking hotel)! Hope you don’t have allergies. The hotel is basically enclosed until you reach the ground floor. The air conditioner worked o.k. though, but just o.k. The safety deposit box that comes with each room was broken or never even put together. So, do you feel like carrying all of your money? Definitely not. Upon lying down, my bed was covered with sand and certain insects that bit my legs, I think ants, and my brother thinks fleas. After changing the spread, it was fine. After receiving like three or four wristbands for the various clubs ($10-$35 entrance), I accidentally removed my hotel wristband---uh, that will cost you one hundred dollars. The hotel drinks are average priced, the meals mediocre and the beach mild (near marina), but beautiful. The local restaurants are so overpriced it's not even funny. The last night we were there, my brother and I went into the downtown area for some better priced dinner and found some great food, only to be later shook down by the cops for money. Always carry like twenty bucks in you front pocket, hide the rest. If ever you are stopped or hassled, twenty should be sufficient or just avoid Cancun all together if you can. Although, the Mexican people are so friendly, kind and courteous, they just work for like ten bucks a day and the corruption is sickening. Go to Cozumel, or Playa Del Carmen to experience how Cancun used to be. All and all, Cancun is a tourist trap, I would NOT recommend this hotel for someone looking to have a cheap, honest, vacation. I was in Cancun last year and had a great time at Le Meridien, maybe a great hotel makes all the difference, well, it does for me anyways--hopes this helps.

When arriving to the hotel the front desk tried to sell us an upgrade room for an extra 29.00 USD a night which we did not get which was good because the regular room had the same view. The telephones wouldn't work right and I couldn't get any help from anyone. Safety boxes are 4.95 a day. Every time we got off the elevator an employee of the hotel would try to get us to go on a tour of another hotel and offer us a free breakfast there. The food was pretty bad and the same thing over and over, and you need a sleeved shirt on every meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach bars close at 5:00 pm and the main bar at 1:00 but you can not stay up that long because it is so boring! The drinks on the all-inclusive plan are very limited. Entertainment is 2 times a week for 45 minutes on the beach. Oasis Beach is a good hotel for older people that want to read all week or knit a sweater.

My first time going to Cancun, a girlfriend and I stayed at Oasis Beach. I did some research on the internet for one of best beaches in Cancun. This was one of them & for the price you couldn't beat it! Lots of palm trees, grass roofs for shade, white sands & clear seawaters! Just like a post card. You can't forget the grass hut bar and snack bar right on the beach (too cool). The hotel had a laid back atmosphere & I like that! If you want to party jump on a bus or catch a cab to bars and nightclubs (5 minutes away). The hotel and the rooms where always clean! The customer service was great, we were treated very well & the food was different but good. As a retail manager I know a lot about customer service and here did their job well! This year in August some family members and I will be making a trip to Cancun and will stay here again. I cannot wait!

Do not go to Oasis Beach.... I just got back about three hours ago and wanted to immediately warn others. I read poor reviews prior to our trip, but hoped for the best. The hotel staff was rude, and this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Brad, e-mail withheld, 2005-03-21

Even when we are from Mexico, we found the Oasis Beach one of the worst hotels to be. The security personal is not trained to help the guest and I suggest not staying there in the spring break season it. Is too noisy because of the young people.

Just returned from a trip during Feb-March. What I have to say about Oasis Beach is that it was a very quite hotel for families or for older people (50+) but for a young guy there's absolutely nothing to do there, no bar's on the resort open past 12:30am. The staff really takes advantage of young traveler's on spring break! Don’t go! Go to Oasis Cancun, it’s worth every dollar.
John, e-mail withheld, 2005-03-03

We stayed there for Spring Break 2005. The Oasis Beach itself was beautiful. I have no complaints in regard to service either. The food however was terrible. My boyfriend and I got food poisoning the second day, in which we reported to the manager who we were lucky could understand us and never did a thing about it. I would not recommend this hotel for the food!
H, e-mail withheld, 2005-03-03

Definitely the best week of my life. We were at the Oasis Beach for Canadian Spring break in Feb 2005. The staff was incredibly friendly and took the time to get to know us. They were always willing to help and were interested in making our stay amazing. The food was way above my expectations and the rooms were always clean. I would definitely stay there again and we are actually planning our trip back next year.

I travel all over the world and stayed in many different hotels, I took a group of beauty queens to Oasis Beach Cancun and they, like myself had a wonderful trip. The scuba class was the best experience I have ever had in my life. You must try it. It was worth every penny, ("But I did not pay as much anyways compared to 5 stars!).

We stayed at the Oasis Beach Cancun during February 2004, it is probably the worst hotel I ever stayed in, the waiters were very rude, and one of them roughly pulled the arm of one of my children, which promptly lead me to find another hotel.

I stayed at the Oasis Beach Cancun last September with three friends and I loved it. The rooms were very clean and the food quality was good. More changes wouldn’t be bad, but it was good. The beach was not comparable with Tulum or Isla Mujeres, but it is after all in a bay where boats go round the whole day - so the water got dirty. The staff was very friendly - special thanks to Alfredo who always gave us a smile. Also special thanks to the entertainment staff, especially to Gabriel and David. They know how to entertain their guests. They showed us the nightlife of Cancun, which is the best all over the world! I would go there tomorrow again if I could!

We stayed at Oasis Beach Cancun during Spring Break 2004, there was a group of us traveling altogether I wasn’t that impressed with the hotel the A/C in the rooms didn’t work half the time we were there, our lock safe didn’t work and the staff never did fix it after 1 week. The quality of the food wasn’t the best either. In the end i wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
Jason, e-mail withheld, 2004-08-25

The Oasis Beach Cancun was great. My friends and I visited during the last week of May and we were contemplating missing our plane home because we loved it so much. The staff is polite and eager to help (well most of them are). The entertainment staff was excellent... Thank you Gabriel, David and 'Mini Me' (NICE SHOES, NICE VIEW boys). They know how to keep their guests entertained and safe too. It was also nice to have some peace during the day to recuperate from the previous nights parties. For those who think the place was bad, I have heard much worse about other places! I would go again tomorrow if I could!
Tiziana, e-mail withheld, 2004-05-06

Well when we first arrived at this "so called" beautiful place we thought that it would be a awesome view where you can actually open your window and listen to the waves...yeah pretty much opened the smelly room to see that we had to suffocate ourselves in our sleep from lack of room/air. Service was horrible and people working there need to learn some manners. Never ever will I go back to Oasis Beach Cancun.
Kim, e-mail withheld, 2004-04-06

We stayed at the Oasis Beach Cancun over Spring break 2004. We found the hotel to be very nice, not luxurious but clean and pleasant. The staff was great, the food was abundant and so were the drinks. I hope that the negative reviews don't stop you from going if you get a chance because we had a great time and I would go again in a heartbeat.
Jody, e-mail withheld, 2004-03-23

We stayed at the Oasis Beach Cancun at the end of Feb/04 and just loved the views. The wait staff was wonderful and the rooms clean. All inclusive was the way to go. For the best food, arrive early when they open, as everything is hot. Also you can walk from your hotel to quite a few places. Enjoy Captain Hook. I would consider going again.

Do not take an "UP GRADE" from the Oasis Akumal to this hotel. We were so disappointed when we got here. We stayed a week at the Oasis Akumal and for the last two days were offered an "up grade" to the Oasis Beach Cancun. We loved the Oasis Akumal but had done everything and thought it might be nice to see another part of the east coast of Mexico. What a disappointment! We would never go back there. The food was cold, the windows didnt open, the beach was nothing compared to the beach in Akumal. It was a very disappointing last two days.

I went to the Oasis Beach Cancun with some friends and it was awful. The service was awful. It took an hour to get a drink. The food was awful after the first day. And the room is like a medically sealed room. There is no way to get fresh air.
Raul Teriff, e-mail withheld, 2004-01-19

I stayed at Oasis Beach Cancun and had a great time. I am disappointed to see the negative input from others. It is not fancy but beautiful none the less. We stayed over the university reading week (spring break) and had a great time.
Pam Falk, superpam19@hotmail.com, 2004-01-12

Although Oasis Beach had the nicest beach I have ever stayed on, the service was terrible (except for the occasional friendly waiter worth tipping). There was no hot water in our room, our safety deposit box broke during the middle of our stay and our air conditioner leaked and flooded our floor. However, most the problems were fixed promptly excluding the shower. Stay there if you are not planning to stay in your hotel area too much. We still had a great time!
Krystina Schleicher, e-mail withheld, 2003-06-01

I have stayed at the Oasis Beach Cancun numerous times. This is the best beach in Cancun. It is long and wide and and white and protected from the Caribbean wind and waves because it is on the north side of the "island". The rooms, food, service, and location are all average... like a US Holiday Inn. But considering the bargain prices sometimes offered through charter companies (under $500 / all-inclusive) this place cant be beat. Worst thing: the rooms have no balconies or windows that open. But again, I have walked every beach in Cancun... this one is THE best!!
