Ok, so I went there July 2006. The hotel was beautiful, staff was extremely nice, food was kind of bland but non the less not bad. Everything was perfect, and I plan on going back to Cancun same hotel next year. I highly recommend going to this hotel.

HORRIBLE!!! No hot water, leaking ceilings, puddles in the hallways that weren't being mopped up, rude staff, over crowded beaches, some people that were trying to check in were told to come back the next day!!! It was insane!!! Very disappointing!! I will go back to Cancun, but not at this hotel...

After 2 days all of us got extremely sick, one of our friends was even hospitalized. We had to leave the hotel 3 days early and the hotel would not reimburse us for anything!!!!

Me and three friends came to Cancun for the first time and we had one hell of a time! The hotel Oasis Cancun has lots of hookups with premier clubs and they always get u in before any other group! The food was ok but the girls were smokin hot and everyone vibed really well. I cant say much more besides u have to check it out for ur self! Its a must. And if ur lucky like me u just might meet ther right person!

We were at the Oasis Cancun in 2003 and LOVED IT. Never once was there a problem with the food service or anything like that. I would definitely go back again. In fact we are planning a trip in the New Year and this is one of the choices. Only wish that ALEX (fitness instructor) was still there.

Just got back from a 4 day, 3 night trip over July 4th weekend (7/3/05 - 7/6/05). The hotel Oasis Cancun was horrible and had an awful mildew/mold smell. The smell was every where, in the main bathroom in the lobby, and in our room. I complained and was given a room on a higher floor but it still smelled and the phone did not work. We upgraded by paying a $150.00 fee to stay in the Grand Oasis. They give you a different colored wrist band which gives you access to special bars and restaurants the regular guests cannot go to. I would recommend the Cancun Palace over this resort in general though. If you have to go to the Oasis, then plan on upgrading to the Grand Oasis or you'll regret it.

Oasis Cancun is great for 20 yr olds and younger. From the time we checked in until the time we left it was nothing but a 24-7 frat party. If you are looking for some rest and relaxation, this is NOT the place to go. The staff although was great, but it definitely was an obnoxious place to stay. The food was not all that great either. The time we went wasn’t even during spring break, I would hate to see this place when it is Spring break. Horrible. Too many immature drunken young ones...I felt old, and I am only 25.

Let me warn you in advance: If you go to Cancun for the inside of the hotel [rooms, lobby, restaurants, etc.] or if you want some peace and quiet then I would have to say DONT GO HERE! But the beach is GORGEOUS! They had not so great food, and trust me, I am Mexican and I know Mexican food and what they served was not Mexican [like they said it was]! My sister came home with a minor case of the stomach flu. The bartenders give alcohol to minors [they gave a beer to a 15 yr old] so there were drunk teenagers all over the lobby from 10PM to 5AM and they were singing LOUDLY. We called security to shut them up and they did SQUAT. If you are a teen looking to get drunk, Oasis Cancun is your heaven. If you are a person who is looking for a place where you can take your family and actually get to sleep at night, this is your LIVING HELL. If you are one of those people who say the "F word" 5 times in a 3 word sentence, then you'll find friends here easily. If you don’t want your kids to catch any of these words, don’t come here! The rooms and employees were OK it's just the lack of management! The lobby was under construction and the ONE elevator they had working broke down so everyone had to take the stairs! The drinks were mixed wrong most of the time. I asked for a Pink Panther and I got a bizarre sour daiquiri drink. GO TO ONE OF THE RIU RESORTS! They are the about the same price but higher quality! This is what I would do: go to a Riu Resort, and go to the beach at Oasis one of the days. The water is a beautiful turquoise-blue. I hope my information was good for someone!

We visited the Oasis Cancun with eight other couples. I do have to say that we were a group of senior (over 55) adults. This is NOT the place to go unless you are one of the youngsters. Of the eighteen of us only two returned home well. Six fell on the slippery marble. The others of us came home with sinus and ear infections and a serious intestinal bug. We found the waiters were glad to serve the youngsters but when several of us were at the bar, after the second drink the waiters mixed our drinks wrong. Like scotch and margarita mix. On three nights the bars ran out of bourbon and scotch. This was suppose to be an all-inclusive? The food was less than good with the breakfast being the best of the served meals. None of this group will ever return to this particular hotel. I feel like we just spent about 4K $$$ to spend four nights in hell. NEVER AGAIN!

My buddy and I absolutely loved the Oasis Cancun. We had the all inclusive package and stayed for 5 days. The only real complaint we had was the food (I would recommend taking some Imodium). The rooms were clean and the AC worked fine. If you do stay at this hotel, you've got to find Daniel and Eduardo for water volleyball! And definitely find Mario in the lobby bar, he makes good drinks. Our hotel was apparently the place to be because everyone from the other hotels came to ours during the day. Overall we had a fantabulous time and we're ready to go back! (Oh p.s. don't mess with the peacocks, they CAN be vicious! LOL)

Every year my family goes on great trip .. but the two years I went to the Oasis Cancun were the best vacations. The food there was great; everyone was friendly; and we always seemed to have a great time with the little game they played in the pool.

I loved this hotel! I just wanted to say that for all you people who are looking for a great time in Cancun Mexico, Oasis Cancun is definitely the place to go! If you don't know how to have fun, or if you are going on vacation to relax do not go to this hotel because you will have a horrible time. I went to the hotel this year and I loved it! The food was great, you have plenty of restaurants to choose from and you don't even have to reserve! You do not have to pay 30$ if you don't bring back the towels the same day (like someone said?! They close the booth at 5:00 but you can bring it back the following day... The premises are always excessively clean and well maintained. This hotel is not the newest one but they have built some new floors this summer which I am sure will be more luxurious.

Best time we ever had in our 32 years of marriage. We will be back this year. Try it, you will like it. We are in our fifties and will keep going back to Oasis Cancun as long as we live.

The Oasis Cancun had it good things and had its bad things. The check-in line took about an hour to get through, and it took about 25 minutes to find our room, because the resort is so huge. For the most part the staff was friendly but they always wanted some type of a tip. Plus we had ants in our sink every day. Could have been the beer left in it though. For the most part the resort was beautiful and well looked after. They were always cleaning the grounds. The staff at the bars was great and kept pouring us drinks all day long without hesitation. The food was pretty good and a lot of choices where to eat. The morning breakfast buffet was the best. If you are looking for a place to relax and not be disturbed, don’t go there, but if you are young and looking for a place to party and have a good time, then definitely go to the oasis Cancun, it is worth the money.

My experience at the Oasis Cancun was horrible from the moment we walked in. Our room was infested with termites and our phone didn't work. I notified the front desk several times a day for our entire stay but nothing was ever done. I asked for a manager but there was never one available. I asked to change rooms but was totally ignored. Light bulbs burnt out in the room.... that was dark to begin with.... but were never replaced. The maids took our towels but did not replace them. All-inclusive apparently did not mean all-inclusive as we were excluded from several bars and restaurants and room service wasn't included. Very drunk, loud "guests" were yelling, singing, and slamming doors at 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00 in the morning. A stray cat attempted to eat dinner from our table one evening and the waiter told us that there were several of them on the hotel grounds. I was also accused of trying to steal their beach towels. The staff was very uncooperative. This was definitely the worst vacation I have ever taken!

Oasis Cancun was the best hotel I ever been to. My friends and I went down there this July and we found that we made the right choice. Well if they ask us to go down there, we will not hesitate and pack our bag and go.
Randell, yunghunta@yahoo.com, 2004-08-26

Do not book the Oasis Cancun. I hated it! I do not recommend it. I went with a group of ten people. Four of them had to stay at a different hotel because they over book it. The six of used that did stay could not sleep at night because the rooms were hot. The A/C did not work. Kids running up and down the halls yelling and knocking on the doors all night long. They had security, but they were there for decoration only. Bathrooms had no doors.
Aurelio Muro, aurmuro@aol.com, 2004-07-23

Don't be scared if you plan on staying here. My family and I stayed at the all-inclusive Oasis Cancun for four nights. Like some people have been saying there were quite a few Summer Break kids around but what do you expect in Cancun? Don't blame the hotel for the behavior of the kids. I cannot speak for anyone else but our rooms were clean, did NOT smell, and the A/C worked great. The maids came back later if you were sleeping in and our even folded our towels into swans. :) I found all of the staff very friendly and eager to oblige to any request. The pool was very clean and the swim-up bars were great. I never had a problem getting towels for the beach or pool, but remember to bring them back by 5pm (they tell you that when you get them so if you don't and there is a charge that's your fault!). As for getting things stolen from your room, I would suggest just bringing suitcases with locks and putting valuables in there instead of renting a lock box or anything like that. No one is going to steal a suitcase. The food was great for buffet, take what you want, and don’t take what you don't want, simple as that. The a la carte restaurants were more formal and the food was great. I went with a party of 7 people and everyone found something they liked and no one got sick. The drinks are great and I had no problems getting what I wanted. There isn't much entertainment at night within the hotel, but did you really go to Cancun to stay at a hotel? Get out! I would recommend this hotel highly, but not during the Spring Break season to anyone over 25!

All I got to say is: if you don’t like to party don’t go. Oasis Cancun is the party hotel. Definitely get the all-inclusive package so you can drink and eat whenever you want. The service was OK.

04-18-04 throught 04-22-04. ( All INCLUSIVE). We flew on a direct flight from Charlotte, NC. to and from Cancun. We were shuttled from the airport to the Oasis Cancun. I never saw a moment that the Oasis Cancun didn’t have someone cleaning or maintaining the grounds and the pool areas. Our room was large very nice and had a fantastic view. Every floor had security .The front desk, money exchange and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Simry at the tours desk was very friendly and helpful in explaining rates for various tours. There was no pressure only choices. The tours buses were air conditioned and the drivers and guides were very well trained and extremely knowledgeable. Cancun also had a public transportation bus system that cost approximately 60 cents per person. We didn't meet anyone that didn't speak English and wouldn’t go out of their way to assist us. The only reason that I could imagine some would be unhappy or have a bad experience would be during the spring break season. In my opinion: the all-inclusive packages are the only way to go. You have your choice of several restaurants and bars included. The food is great and the liquor isn’t to shabby either. Cancun started as a vacation and wound up being an experience because of the great people that took excellent care of us at the Oasis Cancun. My special thanks to Luis, Diego and José of the Tatish restaurant for excellent service and great conversation, to Arturo the staff paramedic and to our favorite bellboy Edwin.

I stayed at the Oasis Cancun and hated it. Horrible service! The employees didn't care about you at all. Example: I asked for a drink, he said: “I am talking, wait!”. You don't do that! What I hated the most was even though I had the all inclusive, we had to sign for everything! That was just a waste of time. Then they sometimes messed up the room numbers! Another thing, they told us our room was ready, we get the keys (they are actual keys, not cards) and open the door; beds aren’t made, beer bottles all over the place, shoes, clothes, they gave us the wrong room, and overbooked. They finally found us another room! The rooms were OK but the air isn't good! It is a clean resort that is why I upped my 1.. to a 2! The back buildings didn't have elevators! Either No entertainment by the pool... what’s that? Stay somewhere else. Help close this place down!

Do not stay at Oasis Cancun, the service is terrible and the hotel rips you off. Make sure u have all inclusive if you do stay there. Beautiful hotel but horrible service.

Oasis Cancun was the worse place I have ever stayed. It was dirty, smelled bad and had no bathroom doors. We were robbed twice once out of our rooms and then out of a locker the hotel gave us, they wouldn't let us file a report and told us they were going to call the police on us for asking to speak to the staff on duty the night of the break in. They also laughed in our faces for telling them how much was stolen. The lock boxes cost $30 to get the locks (we had one), the TV’s didn't work, the toilets - one leaked and the other didn't flush (we had a double room) when we called maintenance to fix the balcony door after the break in they said they'd be up in 5 minutes and didn't come till the next day. The only thing to do there at night is drink at the bars and if you don't get the all inclusive for $60 a day it’s not worth it. We will never stay at Oasis Cancun again!

This was my first time in Oasis Cancun and I loved every minute of it! I went with 5 friends and we loved the beach and swim up bar at the pools. The activities and games on the beach were awesome. The staff and tourist are very friendly and they know how to party. Basically it’s a party life in Oasis... the resort at night takes you to the clubs by bus in groups. I would go back more than once that’s for sure. Thanks!

My husband and I have been to Cancun 3 times and have stayed at the Oasis Cancun every time. The food restaurants choices are excellent, the beach and view of the ocean is beautiful and they have the BEST pool (and pool bars) around! On our third trip, we asked for an ocean view room and they said to check back in three hours.....which I did and they moved us, very graciously, to an ocean view room. I tipped the concierge $20 (American) and we had GREAT service the rest of our trip. I was pregnant on our 3rd trip and got the royal treatment including golf cart rides throughout the hotel area wherever I needed to go. Lets face it.....for the price and the appeal.....Oasis Cancun is the best! How much time are you REALLY going to spend in the room anyway? We will keep going back year after year!

Me and my girlfriend went to the Oasis Cancun last summer and I have got to say that this is the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was so smelly and dirty and the staff was very rude. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone at all. I will never be returning to the Oasis again.
Jake Ordner, ordie_69@hotmail.com, 2004-02-11

We were a little worried after seeing all the negative comments about Oasis Cancun, but were pleasantly surprised. One of our rooms was musty smelling, but they were over booked and we wanted to stay with the rest of our group. There were 5 restaurants to choose from and the food was very good. The buffet at the restaurant by the pool was fantastic. Fresh made omelets and smoothies. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We chose this hotel because of the price, and were not expecting a lot. Next time we will choose it because we enjoyed ourselves and had a great vacation.
Kathy, e-mail withheld, 2004-01-26

I stayed at the Oasis Cancun and here is my comment. You get what you pay for and the Oasis is a great Value! Its location is great and the food is fine! You cant beat the price!
Fernando, pccap@earthlink.net, 2004-01-19

My first time in Cancun and I cant say nothing wrong about the city. However, I was extremely disappointed with the Oasis Cancun. The service was great, however the resort itself, I thought it was dirty. No entertainment at night. The food was not the greatest. I wouldnt go back to this Hotel.....but to Cancun anytime!
Claudia, e-mail withheld, 2003-12-31

The hotel Oasis Cancun is absolutely beautiful, the employees were very friendly, the food was delicious, the rooms were clean, the AC worked just fine (in fact we had to turn it down because it was so cold) and the beach was absolutely breathtaking! There were young people in their 20s like everyone else was saying, but there were also a lot of couples, families and older people. It is not as big of a party place as all these comments have been saying. Maybe we just went in the wrong week, I dont know. But what I do know is that my friends and I were absolutely in love with the hotel and would definitely go back. I have no negative comments to say at all. The only thing is that the continuous pool, isnt continuous. It gets cut about half way, so you cant swim from one end to the other
Jess, e-mail withheld, 2003-08-23

Just got back from my second trip to the Oasis Cancun and cannot say enough about it. It was great!! The room, pool, shows, restaurants, amenities and service were all terrific. I would recommend it to anyone. The people that complain about this place probably would not be happy anywhere.
Bob P., e-mail withheld, 2003-08-04

Let me start by saying the hotel Oasis Cancun rates a -5 star. The service was horrible; the rooms were hot and dirty. We changed rooms twice and it did not help. A/C would not cool the room down. No hot water for two days but who need hot water! And the bathroom stunk like urine. They could not get rid of the smell even after cleaning the room. There were young kids drinking all over the place with out any one given or caring if they would hurt themselves or some one else. They were drunk loud obnoxious, rude, disrespectful. The whole place was bad; food made us sick, we got back home and are still sick. I would not recommended it to any one. First and last time in Cancun.
Fernando, e-mail withheld, 2003-06-22

If you are not a spring breaker, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT go to Oasis Cancun during spring break. This place crawls with kids and the whole place becomes cheap and an absolute night mare. Actually I would not recommend this hotel any time. We have been to Cancun many times and the service at this hotel was by far the absolute worst we have encountered. The Oasis in Akumal is beautiful and very laid back. Much much nicer than the Oasis in Cancun. So if you must stay at an Oasis, I recommend staying in Akumal and spend one day at the one in Cancun just for something different.
Joe, e-mail withheld, 2003-05-24

Been to the Oasis Cancun 3 times. Yes, Staff wasnt exactly gracious. Rooms are a little Spartan, but you cant beat the beach and the pool. The grounds are also very lush and beautiful adding to the Caribbean atmosphere.
Tim R, e-mail withheld, 2003-04-21

If you havent booked the Oasis Cancun, DONT! The rooms are run down, and the staff needs customer service courses. We had a hard time sleeping as it was very noisy. Bring your own beach towels because they charge you $30 if you dont bring them back by 5:00pm, also you are lucky to get a towel after 1:00pm because they ran out everyday we were there.
Jody Morris, jmorrismn@aol.com, 2003-04-15

Our ceiling was leaking...and the service was very slow at Oasis Cancun.
Grace, e-mail withheld, 2003-04-13

I found cock-roaches in the room at the Oasis Cancun. The service need to be improved .I do not recommend it.
Adrian, lover@movi.com.ar, 2003-03-27

Oasis Cancun is a nice resort, beautiful beach, amazing pool. Rooms are very plain, a little run down. Some staff helpful, but front desk staff need politeness courses.
