I went with two friends and this is the worst place I have EVER stayed. Rude staff, and poor service. The slush drinks were bad with a sprit of booze on the top. Lineups all the time. Especially for the eggs in the morning....One very nice elder lady was responsible for making the omelets for the whole place,.. Brutal line ups for everything including check in, check out, dining, drinks. One bar at the beach was nuts. On two separate occasions I watched 4 servers at the bars. It was painful waiting and watching them fix the beer keg. Actually one working and three watching while the lineups grew.

We stayed here on February 2008 for 6 days. The first 4 days were ok, the food was cold and not that great, we tried 5 of the restaurants. The beach and pool were clean, rooms are very small. Our problem began on the 5th day, we were out from 8am - 6pm, go to open the door and our key did not work, ok got it re-keyed at the front desk, opened the door and found the room has not been cleaned, our wet towels still on the floor from this morning, went to the front desk ( my wife speaks spanish) thought things were going to be taken care of but NOT, 2 hours later we went back to the front desk to see if we could get clean towels --we will send someone to your room--. Needless to say we took 3 showers with wet dirty towels and never received towels or got our room cleaned the rest of our stay. I would not stay here again.

Hi, what is up with you, it is obvious you stayed at the Oasis not Grand Oasis hotel, so just stop lying. I stayed from jan 30 to feb and all you said is not true. The only buildings that have a few flooding problems etc are the Oasis phase 1 and phase 2. The Grand Oasis is great, 0 problems I assure you. It is truly a 5 star hotel, great service, many extra activities are included such as golf for free, it rules. The last time I stayed in Cancun I stayed at the Dreams hotel and the Grand Oasis is much better even though both are 5 star hotels, I truly recommend it for anyone who wants to spend a great vacation in the most beautiful ocean ever!!!! Ignore the person that is obviously just one that uses different names to make up stories, none are true! The Grand oasis has noooo problems. The ones that have a few problems are the Oasis Cancun not the Grand Oasis Cancun.

This resort was an absolute joke. 5 stars? Dirty, outdated rooms. Friendly staff? Sure, but only until they find out you're not giving them $5 US just for saying hello to you. Leave your $1's at home, because apparently that's more of an insult than not tipping at all. So much for all-inclusive. The food was good, and the service was quick, but it was never done with a true smile. Pool was closed early every night. All inclusive restaurants only open for total of 6 hours/day!! Plus, they tried sticking us in the regular Oasis next door, even though we paid for the Grand Oasis! I will never be back to Mexico. Forget about the Oasis sucking, because that's just the beginning. These people are rude and corrupt. We were robbed by 3 policemen, each time for doing nothing. And we were threatened that we would be thrown in jail if we said anything.

The beach is phenomenal, the service was excellent, and the food was good. I had a fabulous time with my fiancée at the Grand Oasis Cancun. This is one all inclusive you need to go to....but watch out for the waves :)

For a 5 star hotel I would give the Grand Oasis Cancun a 3. What's good? The staff are friendly, the pool and beach were beautiful. What's bad? The food, the room which to me was falling apart. The balcony door was broken, the knob on drawers were coming off, the washroom door couldn't close properly and the TV didn't work. Called for someone to come check the TV out but nobody came after 2hrs. Reservations for restaurants are booked up fast but when you arrive to the restaurant there's NO ONE! If you’re looking for a excellent 5 star hotel look somewhere else. I would have paid another $500 to stay at a better hotel!

We have been going to Cancun for years; our first (bad) experience was our choice of another hotel. We walked the beach and found the Grand Oasis and made sure we booked it for the following year. We have been going back there ever since. I cannot find one thing to complain about in all the times we have been there; sure the menu is the same day in and day out but there is always the buffet. We really enjoy the food even though it might be repetitious. We even order the same thing because we liked what we ate. Bottled water is a plus. We have never gotten ill while staying there. We love to feed the iguanas bananas we take from the breakfast buffet while the help got a kick out of us feeding the caged birds, peacocks, and lizards. The staff can't do enough for you. Even though tips are included in the all-inclusive, we always bring a stack of $1's with us to leave a little extra at our table not to show off but to show appreciation. Lobster at the Careyes restaurant was to die for. The people really work hard to make sure you have a great time and we appreciate their attention. I guess in all we LOVE this hotel and can't wait to return.

My fiancée and I stayed here for 5 days in June 05 and loved it. Found staff to be very friendly, surprised to read comments below that others did not. Food was ok to good. Beach area is fabulous. Will stay here again. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at the Grand Oasis 4 times and love it. The problem was this year we had no air conditioning in the main hotel. The rooms had no air as well as the lobby. We stayed in February 2005. We plan on going back in February 2006.

Our family vacationed at Grand Oasis Cancun from April 9 through 13th. We have two 12 year old girls and one 9 year old son. We went through Trillogy Travel out of Adlers Travel in Rochester MN. After getting of the plane, we were greeted by two gentlemen holding up our names on signs, then driven by a private air conditioned van to the hotel. We asked for adjoining rooms, and were given them, but we couldn't stay in the main hotel, we were in the --overflow-- rooms (not phase 1 or 2). Our room was on the 4th floor (not bad) but we had a breathtaking view of the ocean..just beautiful. Our rooms were very quiet. We had great air-conditioned rooms, with very nice showers. There are blow dryers (didn't use) and plenty of plug-ins. The lighting is horrible. There were some stations that were in English. The beds are hard, but great pillows. The pool(s) were very well maintained. You don't need towels, but buy some pool air mattresses; we brought cheap ones, then left them there. The ocean is great...don't forget swim goggles! The salt water hurts if you get it in your eyes. Buy at least 45 sunblock and bring good lotion for after! The staff hates all of us, they are very unfriendly. The food is horrible, our 12 year old girls can cook better. I was hoping for some good Mexican food, but you won't find it here. The pop is good and so are the drinks. All water is bottled, and good. The maids were very nice. Nothing ever stolen out of our rooms. You do need to get up early in order to get a good place on the beach or by the pool. The nice thing is, people leave you stuff alone, you don't have to worry about anyone taking your things. We had black bands, which was the all-inclusive, so we had our own private beach section. Three (old) women bathed topless (very tacky). Besides those three old --ladies--, we saw nothing else that was untasteful, and this was only on private section. I would suggest checking out the night before. You can keep your keys until you leave. You have to call the minibar guy to check out what you may have taken that you had to pay for (in the minibar, pop, water, beer is free). Call very early for this, we called at 6am, 7am, and then again at 8:30. Check in is at 3pm, and they do NOT let you in your rooms early, so if you can get a later flight in, do it. We got in at 11am and had to wait...very hot wait, so get a late flight in, and an early flight on (like 1:45, you'll want to leave at 11:30 from the hotel to get through the airport in time). Guys, don't bring shaving cream in a can...you'll get checked at every stop!

We were squeezed! Arrived to Grand Oasis Cancun to find our hotel room was --double booked-- and we had no place to stay. Argument with front desk manager proved futile, he did say that if we paid him (his exact words) $250 US dollars (under the table) that he would be able to --find-- the room we had booked (beachfront). We refused to pay him which got him extremely angry and hostile. Found several other couples that had been --squeezed-- like us. Rooms were rundown and unkept. Maintenance needed around the entire area, especially near the pool which was only open until 6 pm. Inclusive dining was very limited, had to book restaurants 24 hours in advance and found most of them empty. Found staff to be very rude, and at times hostile. Customer service was non existent. We will never stay here again, nor would we ever recommend it to our family or friends.

I have been to Grand Oasis Cancun 4 times already and all I can say is that this is the best hotel in Cancun. I have stayed in 5 other hotels in Cancun and between the service, food and entertainment well the other hotels just don't compare.

Stayed at the Grand Oasis Cancun during spring break 2004. In a nutshell this place is the best bang for your buck. Hotel is beautiful, 90% of the staff [front desk, cleaning service, bartenders, servers] are very friendly and accommodating. The beach is amazing. It’s not very big, so get there early for chairs and cabanas. One huge plus is that grand oasis visitors are the only ones allowed in the grand oasis part of the beach. Moreover, there are security personnel who stop peddlers from approaching you. Huge plus! I think many people may confuse the oasis and grand oasis complexes and give the grand a bad rap. The oasis [two smaller side buildings] is crawling with spring breakers, but they have their own beach section and pools and we really weren't bothered by them the whole week. The restaurants are average, but who really comes to Cancun for the food?? We had the all-inclusive meal and found it cheap enough to eat a night or two in town. Plus you get sick of the same food the whole week. The drinks can be on the weak side but order more if you have the AI plan. The rooms are on the small side, but fine. The bathrooms were fine too, though our tub had a few rust spots in it. But again, hopefully you'll be out on the beach, shopping or in the pool 99% of the day! :) All in all, grand oasis is very nice.

We absolutely LOVED the Grand Oasis Cancun! We are already planning to go back in February of 2005! The food, rooms, beach & pools were super. Everything was clean and the staff was all friendly. Definitely 5 star accommodations!

I stayed at the Grand Oasis Cancun during spring break 2003, it was phenomenal to say the very least. I highly recommend this hotel not only to spring breakers but to anyone who is going to Cancun to have a great time on a top shelf level. When you stay at the Grand Oasis you dont call home for days... take my word for it!

I stayed at The Grand Oasis Cancun for Valentines weekend 2002. I went with my boyfriend. The hotel was very nice..not too crowded..The beach was not really big but it was awesome!! The hotel is not really close to all of the clubs, but it is cheap and quick to take the bus there. The food was so so. I am starting to figure out that the food at any of the hotels is not going to be their greatest. It is all eatable though. This hotel had their own club within the hotel which is pretty cool. The room was very clean and the bathroom was nice too. We had an ocean view on the 5th floor. It was very nice and we had no problem getting it. The staff is very friendly and take care of you no matter where you are. It is nice to be able to lay on the beach and have someone come to you....You do not have to get up and go back and forth to the bar. The drinks are not very strong..however it is all-inclusive so if you want them stronger then order a shot as well and add it to your drink..no big deal...All in all I would recommend this hotel. We had a very pleasant and relaxing visit...I would go back for sure.
