Fantastic! Great! Brilliant! We repeatedly looked at each other and smiled. Every single conceivable thing that anybody could possibly want from a holiday could be found at the Occidental Caribbean Village. We sincerely believe that anyone leaving negative info MUST be from a jealous competitor. Our only concern is, where else could we possibly go on holiday and match it??

I visited the Caribbean Village for my 2 week holiday (vacation for the us) and found it to be a great hotel. The entertainment team were fantastic and made sure they involved everyone in all the events (and most importantly, left you alone if you just wanted to relax quietly 'after the night before'). I found the food selection very good, just a small drawer back was booking early for the specialist restaurants but I suppose there has to be some way to restrict the seating to accommodate all. The hotel was situated within easy distance from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife and shopping and the evening shows were very entertaining. I have booked to return again in Sep 05 and hope my stay is as enjoyable as last year. Thumbs up from me. Tx

We took our two teenage boys this time, June 2005 and they loved the trip. Kevin and I have been down to Mexico before and knew the differences. The service at the Caribbean Village hotel was outstanding. We loved our Mexican restaurant head waiter and all the staff at the buffet. We also want to mention how good our cleaning staff was. We were not pleased with rusty floors in our bathroom, but the building is older and we can live with that. What we did not enjoy was not having Air Condition. That is our only reason for not returning to this hotel and that's a shame.

This hotel was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for more. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I and my boyfriend were treated like royalty. You don’t have to always tip, but one dollar is a big difference for them. They actually work for ten dollars a day! Gustavo was the best barperson I come across, always there ready waiting with our usual drinks as if he knew we were about to arrive. Please don’t listen to people who say they didn’t enjoy the Caribbean Village. They surely don’t know how to have fun and to be honest.. life is only what you make it.

We stayed at the Caribbean Village in April 2005. I think I can honestly say it was the best time of my life and the staff is a big part of that. They make you feel so comfortable and involved. I love places that make you get stand up and play pool volleyball, or water polo.. stretching class.. beer drinking contests.. it’s all really fun. Then the nightlife, its worth it to go on the bus with the resort...you pay less, don’t wait in line....for the most part.. and have tables reserved for you. Also, the bar hop is a MUST. I really loved it and hated leaving. I definitely recommend the hotel for it’s sweet little hammock area too. You can lay out there.. it’s quiet and no one knows about it. You look at the ocean all day. Its so great. The bar staff very friendly also. Definitely an amazing experience. Only downsides are the time-share salespeople and the prices in the gift shop. Besides that... I’d go there every summer!

I have read the bad reports and they are hard to believe. Our stay was excellent at the Caribbean Village Cancun, except for the strong push for --time-share--. We made reservations for Italian and Brazilian restaurants well ahead of the day and had no problems. The staff at breakfast, lunch, and dinner were just so happy to help, pleasant, and yes we did tip as it is an important contribution to their lifestyle. Yes, the rooms could be upgraded, but they were clean and the room cleaning staff well deserved a gratuity. One small problem though: It was break week and we had some loudmouths next door, we requested a transfer of rooms but the hotel was full, but they did send someone up to 246 to have them behave themselves and to some degree it worked, except for the throwing up in the bathroom at 3am in the morning. Did not bother me but it did bother my wife, you see I have one bad ear so I just lay on the good one. A great time and great tours to Chichen Itza and Coba.

Stayed at the Caribbean Village for a week in February 2005 and had a great time. The rooms were kept very clean the food was very good and the staff was excellent. The waiters were outstanding and very polite. We especially enjoyed eating lunch in the snack bar and receiving special attention by Hugo. The hamburgers were excellent. Although tips are included in all-inclusive we take extra one-dollar bills with us and leave tips. These are wonderful people and work very hard for their money and are very grateful for anything they get. I would recommend it to anyone.

The four of us have just returned from this hotel. It was wonderful, service was great, food was awesome, drinks were not watered down. The beach was just like a picture postcard and the view was fantastic. Our favorite waiter was Pasquale, the bird man nicknamed this by us as he whistles like a bird all the time. Although the Caribbean Village Cancun needs a facelift, we would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great time. We are planning to return in the next couple of years and plan to make it 14 days instead of 7.

My husband and I stayed at the Caribbean Village Cancun in Feb. of 2004. We really enjoyed it. I think they try really hard with the food, but you can't please everyone. A/C worked in room, but who wants in on at that time of year? Event staff was great! Reminder- buck goes a long way so tip every once in awhile. They are very hard working people. The beach is awesome. The Italian restaurant is wonderful, make sure you try it.

My Husband, In-laws, Aunt, Uncle and I just came back yesterday from Cancun and this is the second time my husband and I stayed at Caribbean Village Cancun. The hotel is not fancy but the service is excellent! The food is great! The waiters (Angel, Efrain, Manuel or Miguel and Pascual) are awesome! There was a smile on their face all the time and they are full of life! They always kept us laughing. They would insist that I not get my drinks for refills; they were always on the move providing refills before we needed them. The Mayan coffee I tried in the Firenze Restaurant was great! My husband enjoyed all the activities during the day and the shows at night were awesome! The people in charge of the sports are energetic and funny! Not to mention the location of the hotel is great! It is 20 minutes from the airport and there are 2 malls in walking distance as well as an ATM machine across the street. The beach side is awesome! The beach is not packed and the view is awesome! This is our hotel destination every time we go to Cancun! My In-laws, Aunt and Uncle loved the service and my Father In Law was faithful to all the shows every night! If you are looking for a decent hotel with excellent service this is the one! Like I said, it is not fancy but you are treated like royalty!

I just got back from the Caribbean Village Cancun and I loved it. Everyone there was friendly and always making you laugh. The games were fun, and the entertainment was great. The food was awesome, very delicious. The only thing was the A/C wasn’t working in the lobby, but other than that, I absolutely loved it, and I do recommend it to you all.

Though Caribbean Village Cancun is not a particularly modern hotel, it was still great. The waiters are superb and very friendly as are the staff at the front of the hotel. The nightlife is also very good with a different show every evening and during the day there are plenty of activities to do. The only bad things are the old furnishings but I would still recommend this hotel.

I stayed in Occidental Caribbean Village Cancun, and it was wicked. I went during Spring Break (March 2004), but I am from the UK. The place was full of students a little wild but good fun. I had no trouble with the bar staffs, as all the drinks were on tap (and I never tipped until I was leaving!). During the later part of March more families came, and there was so much sounds during the night. The food was really good. I would recommend this hotel for its service, the front staff is not great, when it comes to anything complicated, but for non-communication actions like serving food and drinks and games, this is your hotel. A great choice and they will see me again!

I just got back from Caribbean Village Cancun. Nothing but problems from check in to check out. What was really bad I had an emergency phone call from my family and the hotel desk said I wasnt there! This is inexcusable. I will never stay at the hotel again. The rooms need to be udated alot! Beware!

Caribbean Village Cancun was an awesome resort that supplied everything we could have possibly needed. Great security and a variety of activities to fill the day and night full of fun!

Caribbean Village Cancun is one of the worst resorts I have ever stayed at (July 2002). At the buffet restaurant and the bars if your not one of the tippers or a pretty girl with her boobs hanging out you can just expect to line up and wait for poor service. When you complain its like we really dont need your business anyway. When we got back to the US I made attempts to complain to the Occidental Hotels main office twice and have yet to hear a response. They just dont care. Will never spend one cent at a Occidental Hotel again. Caribbean Village is owned by them.

I am aware that Caribbean Village Cancun is not the best Cancun has to offer but I have no complaints about the week I spent there. The food is good the bathrooms are not moldy and the staff is very friendly. It is also very conveniently located. It would not be my first choice but I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good relaxing time away from home.

My last two visits to Caribbean Village Cancun have been awful... The rooms are musty and the bathrooms are moldy and lots of mildew. The food is ok nothing great. The Itallion Rest is the only one that is good. But it is hard to get reservations. All the dinner rest you need to make reservations the same day and if you are not at sign up when it opens... forget it Buffet for you again. They have screwed up myreservation 2 times and lost it once. Thats it guys...DONE FOR ME!... I do not recomend this hotel anymore... to many problems. We go on vacation to get away from problems not to have a whole new set of them
