About the only good thing I can say about Riu Yucatan is that the grounds are nice. It was at least a 10 minute walk from my room to the beach. The food was awful. The rooms were hot. I'm back to staying at a hotel or condo in town from now on.

We went to the Riu Yucatan 2 years ago for 3 weeks and we are going back again in December this year for another 3 weeks. Nothing to fault. Sea, sand and drink.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel, it was a nice relaxing vacation, the food was great, the bar staff was very outgoing and made you laugh, we had a wonderful experience except for when we would go down to the beach or the pool at 10:00 am there would be no Chairs available to sit in, due to people taking towels and putting them in The lounge chairs to save a chair I know this was probably due to the riu Tequila also sharing the beach, so it made the beach a little over-crowded At times. Other than that the hotel Riu Yucatan is a great place.

I just got back, an I already miss the Riu Yucatan. The food was good at first, but buffet food gets boring after a while. We didn't try the specialty restaurants. We're on vacation, and don't want to get dressed up to eat. The beach was the nicest around. The hotels to the north, the beaches were affected by hurricane Ivan. The staff was great. The entertainment before they opened the buffet was great. Different theme every night. The only thing I really didn't like was the smell of the room. You don't notice when your there. But when we got home all our clothes smelled musty. Anyway go and experience it for yourself. It’s worth it.

We had a very unsatisfactory visit at Riu Yucatan involving a wedding and 27 guests. Our wedding package cost $3000 CAD. We were charged for a cake we did not get, so I didn’t get my little bride & groom topper. And we were short photographs the staff was rude and unhelpful.

I love staying at the Riu Yucatan. The staff was friendly and upgraded us to a junior suite at no extra cost it was amazing! We got the best treatment out of all the resorts in Mexico I have been to. It was my favorite resort of all time! There were even monkeys in the trees and the parasailing was breathtaking! I would go back in an instant! I would recommend this resort to anyone, even with young children because they have a great children’s mini club.

Riu Yucatan is a beautiful resort, large wonderful beach. tons of food but cruise ship style sitting times. Lots of animals in the resort-monkeys, iguana, and seguras(?) best natural beach in playa resorts.

I loved staying at Riu Yucatan! Everything was great and everyone was so friendly! It was the first time I ever saw the ocean, and I'll tell you id want to go back to that same hotel and look at it again! Very pretty sandy beaches and wonderful games and activities! I miss not being there, I definitely want to go back!

The beaches were very clean at Riu Yucatan. The pool is a bit on the small side and not very clean. The food was alright same thing every day. Did not find much of a selection in the salad bar. Did not like the two seatings for dinner after travelling to many different locations this is the first time this has happened. I find this is not a good way to meet different people.
