Located outside of the small village of Playa Del Carmen, within the luxury development of Playacar and directly on the marvelous white sandy beach. The nine colonial style buildings of three floors are each surrounded by tropical gardens.

The All Inclusive program at Riu Yucatan offers national and international food & beverages, non motorized water sports such as snorkeling, sailing and windsurfing, daytime activities for adults and children, night entertainment, 3 floodlit tennis courts. 

Its 507 spacious rooms are fully equipped with two double beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar, safe deposit boxes and bathroom with shower.

Sports and activities:
* Ping-Pong, workout, volleyball, gym, 1 introductory scuba diving lesson in the pool, 3 lighted hard-surface tennis courts, * Windsurfing, sailing, kayaks, body board and snorkel gear.

Entertainment program:
* Daytime entertainment program for adults and for children from 4 to 12 years of age (seven times a week), * Live music (three times a week), * Shows and Riu Evening Program (several times a week), Entrance and drinks at "La Espuela" Disco (open 6 nights a week) and at "La Piñata" Disco (Riu Tequila, open every night).

All Inclusive features all meals and snacks:

About the only good thing I can say about Riu Yucatan is that the grounds are nice. It was at least a 10 minute walk from my room to the beach. The food was awful. The rooms were hot. I'm back to staying at a hotel or condo in town from now on.

We went to the Riu Yucatan 2 years ago for 3 weeks and we are going back again in December this year for another 3 weeks. Nothing to fault. Sea, sand and drink.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel, it was a nice relaxing vacation, the food was great, the bar staff was very outgoing and made you laugh, we had a wonderful experience except for when we would go down to the beach or the pool at 10:00 am there would be no Chairs available to sit in, due to people taking towels and putting them in The lounge chairs to save a chair I know this was probably due to the riu Tequila also sharing the beach, so it made the beach a little over-crowded At times. Other than that the hotel Riu Yucatan is a great place.
