The Royal Mayan is a luxurious 5-star beachfront property located in Cancun's famous hotel zone. It offers three types of accommodations for singles, couples or families to enjoy. All of the various types of accommodations feature central air conditioning, direct-dial telephone and color TV via Satellite with remote control.

The villa, which can comfortably accommodate six guests, features a full size kitchen, spacious living and dining areas plus two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The suite, which can accommodate four guests, features a private bedroom, a full size kitchen as well as spacious living and dining areas. The Deluxe Room features two double beds and is ideal for couples.

The hotel offers all the amenities you would expect from a 5-star resort including a full-service sports program which includes championship tennis courts, sailboats, snorkeling, cycling, children's activities and water aerobics. In addition, there is a well-stocked grocery store, a travel agency and car rental agency located in the lobby and a full-service unisex beauty salon and delightful boutique are within walking distance at our sister resort, the Royal Caribbean.

As a registered guest of any one of the Royal Resorts properties, you can use the facilities at all of their properties.

No oceanfront rooms - can't hear or see the ocean. Rooms are up to a mile inland and you have to ride 2 shuttles to get to the beach. Some times would take 45 mins. in the heat and swatting at mosquitoes to make the trip to the beach. Nothing nice to say about this place other than it’s a rip-off!

I think Brenda has the wrong hotel named in her review. The Royal Resorts (Mayan, Sands, Caribbean, Islander and Club Internacional) have no rooms that are 1 mile from the ocean and no shuttles to get to the ocean. They have shuttles to get from one resort to another. They are all oceanfront resorts. They are all 5 star resorts and deservedly so.

We loved the hotel! It was so much fun. We had a great OCEAN VIEW ROOM. The beach was so nice and beautiful, we swam all day. I would love to go back in a heartbeat. I would NEVER forget my stay at the Royal Mayan.
