Stay away from their time share sales people. They are very good liars. They will tell you to sign a statement waiving your right to rescind on a purchase contract. Under the Mexican Federal Consumer Protection Law this request and statement are illegal and you do have every right to cancel during the prescribed period. And after you find out that you were lied to, who wouldn't want to cancel.

Royal Sunset was the best resort I’ve ever stayed at so far! I'm a RCI member and exchanged to stay there for a whole week - it was the best exchange ever! EVERYONE was overly accommodating and super friendly - we were treated like royalty! I almost cried at the front desk when I had to leave! It was like home away from home!! :)

I have been a timeshare owner at The Royal Sunset for about 15 years. When I purchased my timeshare they were not done building yet so I was a little concerned that the project may never get completed. I go back to the hotel about every 2 years and just love it. I have never had any problems with booking weeks. It is smaller than the "new" monster hotels and much more intimate, which I love. The staff is friendly and helpful. I have been able to see the Sunset grow over the years and have always been happy with the improvements. As for the food...the Italian food is very good along with the breakfast buffet. The pool side food is fast food so it serves it purpose. They do have a new fine dining area on the beach that I will try on my next visit. All in all, I would recommend it for your trip.
