Our six day stay at Secrets Excellence was --excellent--, the service, food, cleanliness, quality, ambiance was tops. This was by far, a first class resort.

I'm really sorry so many people got sick but what we experienced was completely unlike previous posters. The Secrets Excellence was wonderful and nobody, but nobody got sick. My stomach is very weak and I ate and drank everything. Never go sick at all. Talked to lots of people while there and everybody was fine. If there was a 10 star rating then this hotel would get it. We've been to so many AI's that is mind boggling and the Secrets is tops -- it is at the top.

This is a visually beautiful resort that has very poor management who do not accept responsibility when things go wrong. 8 out of 10 of our party became ill from the food or water or both. Management offered nothing in the way of compensation or adjustment. Most of our party missed at least 24 hours due to the stomach problem (you don’t want to hear the details). On the shuttle van back to the airport, we found another 6 people with the same illness. It's too bad, because if we had received better treatment, we would have thought better of the Secrets Excellence resort.

Be warned, Secrets Excellence is not a first class hotel with first class service, food or amenities. It is very pretty, the rooms are nice, but management is invisible and it shows. There are two hour plus waits in some of the restaurants. Having been in this area many times, I can tell you this is not the one.
