I liked the hotel Soberanis very much. It is centrally located with buses stopping outside the door every few minutes. It is clean and well run, reasonable rates and all the staff speak English, no problems.

Soberanis Cancun hotel was rather old and my room had no bathtub. The bathtub is very important for Japanese since we have a custom of taking bath in the bathtub not only with shower, therefore I was disappointed. But the location of the hotel is very nice. It is in the center of CENTRO and has a super market just next door. The bus stations are nearby and convenient to go everywhere.
