Holidays are over but I still decided to take three more days , to relax and let me tell u that I enjoyed every minute of it , sure there is a lot of partying around in this hotel , but hey , live and let live, if u want to join the fun, sexy, and a little x rated games, go ahead, but if not , they won’t disturb you at all .. As you are told on the front desk, there is a sexy pool, were everything happens, and a quiet pool, where u can have a drink, read a book, and enjoy life at its fullest! Also, this is an excellent place to relax, have a nice dinner in their specialty restaurants (not that the other are bad or anything), that can include fine wines, delicious seafood, everything u can expect and more for what u paid. I had a marvelous time by myself, and now I am ready to go back to work, but will surely return as soon as I can.

Me and my boyfriend went there in 2005 had a wonderful time, enjoyed everything about the hotel. We got back home few weeks later we found out we were having a beautiful baby boy, got a little crazy at times while we were there. We are going back sept 21 2007. We got married and our son will be 2 soon. People were so nice there, great service, and very beautiful there. We got to say at least try it once.

My wife and I are rating specialist for hotel, motel and resorts. We have been to this property a couple of times over the past years, and although we found it not to be a five star resort, found the accommodations, food, entertainment and most other accommodations to be well above average based on the "PRICE YOU PAY TO PLAY". We have had both good rooms as well as not so good. Great food as well as blah. But, dollar for dollar, the money we have been allotted for trips to various resorts has by far gone much further at this resort than at others of the same classification. We are going there again around the end of the first week in June to see in what regards the resort has changed either for the good or bad and will report to everyone on the changes.

I went there on 6/05 then on 2/06 and I’m going back on January. I love Blue Bay.

This hotel was a lot of fun!!! If you like getting crazy and doing bad things or just watching, it is for sure the Cancun experience. Don’t do the Isla Mujeres tour. Take the Ferry at Fat Tuesdays at 9, 11, or 2 and rent the golf cart for the day it was a blast. On the down side the drinks are very, very BAD, they put no booze in them and they are cheap. Make sure and BRING YOUR OWN CUP, the ones they give you are about the size of two shot glasses, no joke. Also you want to make friends with people with red bands or gold bands, they are the time-share owners and can get you top shelf drinks. Don’t stay at an all-inclusive if you are adventurous and plan on doing things everyday; I was gone most of the time so I did not get my money worth out of the all-inclusive. The beach is bad, the water is not clear and there is seaweed everywhere. Also beware of the tours, most of them sound fun but they are not what they seem.

We had a very nice time. Everything was nice and we only found the drinks to be annoying. It's nice to go into a bar and if you want Cuervo or Bacardi instead of the cheap stuff that gives you a headache, you can pay the extra dollar for it. At Blue Bay, its there at the bar but even the repeat visitor wristband doesn't get it. You have to be a time share owner, or slip the bartender a large tip for a couple drinks until his shift is over and you have to start over. Wasn't bad, but wouldn't go back.

Hello. We want to say that Blue Bay Getaway is great! The staff so friendly, the hotel areas always clean, spa was so relaxing place, the food is good enough, the games are so fun, if you don’t want to participate its up to you, for sure we are going to come back!
Betsyy, bettykelly@hotmail.com, 2005-11-09
Let me start off by saying, Blue Bay Getaway is awesome. It is not nude, it’s only topless. They do have some risqué games, but the resort is so big with 3 pools that you do not have to participate or even see it if you don't want to. The quiet pool is great with a swim up bar and it does close at 4 or 5 pm, but there is a bar right outside the pool that is open until 930pm. Then you go to a diff bar. At that pool you may see a few topless girls, but nothing else. The food is great. There is always plenty of food available with many options. The staff is always cleaning. We had to have a wake up and they called us twice! We had a blast. There are no kids which I thought was great. At the Nice Shoes bar, they have activities. The kissing contest got a little out of control, but once we saw it coming we left and went to a different bar. Still had fun and didn't have to see it. I really wanted to give my opinion because some of these reviews worried us, but it was great.

First, I should say that my thumbs up should really be sideways, but since that is not an option, the sideways is closer to up than down... The Blue Bay Getaway is exactly what it advertises itself to be: A reasonably priced, adult themed resort. Basically, there is a lot of sexual energy around all the time, and this is hardly a top notch resort if you are used to the Four Seasons. The food is pretty mediocre, the rooms are not very plush, and the clientele is a bit on the "SPRING BREAK!!!" side. However, if you know what you're getting into, you can have a good time. First, the "quiet pool" was the place for me and my girlfriend. It is much more "standard resort" in feeling. The other two pools are constantly loud and full of naked people, but again, that may be your thing. As to the food, it is repetitive and, honestly, pretty terrible after eating it for more than 3 days, but you will never be hungry. Personally, I think the best food was at the "snack areas" where you can always get burgers and fries - pretty decent ones. I could go on and on, but here's all you need to know: If you are afraid of the entire place being an insane "spring break" themed resort with bad service and loud 18-year-olds, don't worry about that if you aren't going during a major college break time (Spring and Winter breaks). However, if you want that atmosphere and are going during an off time, you can still find what you want at the "sexy pool" and "sports pool." If, however, you are trying to find a relaxing resort for a honeymoon or romantic vacation where you want to relax on the beach and be pampered by the "all inclusiveness", YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. The beds are hard, the food is pretty bad, and the beach is not at all a nice one (hard sand, seaweed, and small), BUT if you are trying to go budget, and are willing to stay in the area of the resort that is best suited to your needs, you can have a very fun vacation.

We loved the Blue Bay Getaway. The food was excellent, lots of things to do. We loved the quiet bar spent every day and night there. We will be going back next year. Excellent holiday. A+

My wife and I had a great time at the Blue Bay Getaway. Took a day to get into the swing of things, couldn’t leave the pool. If you can handle it, join the games, we can’t wait to go back.

We just returned from the Blue Bay Getaway tonight. We had such a fantastic week and are ready to book for next year already! ----- The pools are clean, big, and beautiful. Women can go topless on the beach and at all three pools. We never saw total nudity anywhere. The bar staff at the pools are friendly and make a point of remembering what drink you like. Johnny and Roberto are the most fun and will cater to your every wish for a nice tip. The beach was very clean with workers picking up cups, trash, and emptying ash trays. We were impressed with the non-stop cleaning that went on everywhere. ----- Our room was gorgeous. We had two full size bathrooms, a large living room, bedroom, and walk-in closet area. Our housekeeper, Socorro, was outstanding. We left her a tip every morning and she'd make beautiful animals with our towels. She greeted us every morning with a cheerful "Hola" and asked what animal we'd like for the day. Our room was always spotless as well as our deck. ----- The food was very good. There was always a buffet or snack area open. The bars opened at 10 AM and closed at 1 PM. Snacks were available until 5 AM at Las Margaritas Bar. We generally ate at El Embarcadero which served buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There was a theme dinner every evening and the food was plentiful. ----- The daytime entertainment was at the Main Pool and was never risqué during the week. Saturday is "Wild Saturday" and the entertainment was a bit more open minded but never nasty or distasteful. The evening entertainment was only an hour and a half long and was at the Nice Shoes Bar. It was basically good clean, adult fun. We were surprised that it stayed as tasteful as it did. Saturday night was a bit more loose for the "Men's Best Buns" contest but everyone is warned that the behaviors could get out of control. No one is ever forced or asked to join in any activity. Volunteers are taken after the activity is explained. ----- We would recommend this resort to everyone. It was so much fun!

My friend I cannot recommend the Blue Bay Getaway enough! It was our 2nd time back and there will definitely be more. When we arrived, the hotel was overbooked so for one night we had to stay at the sister resort, but we did receive 3 free nights stay for another time and that was well worth the minor inconvenience. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly! The food and drinks were fine and we had a clean, spacious room. Chinos and the activity staff kept you entertained throughout the day and night. If you are not comfortable with the games you can always just watch and get a good laugh. It's true what they say "no one knows you and no one cares!" and if you don't want to watch, the quiet pool is always an option. If you want a relaxing and fun time and alot of good laughs then this is definitely the place for you!

My wife and I vacationed at this hotel in Sept. of 2004 and March 12 - 19 2005 and totally enjoyed both of our visits! The entertainment at the pool was fun to watch! Omar, Chino and Ericka kept things moving and shakin`! Pablo at the swing bar and Freddy at the swim-up bar were great on both visits! Lourdes {LU LU } at the so called quiet bar was a blast with her boob cup and flute! We have friends that are going to be staying at Blue Bay Getaway on April 14, 2005 and have told them to be ready for adult fun. {Not obscene} Just fun. The food at BBG is as good as any in Cancun and the variety is awesome! The specialty restaurants are very good if you like to slow down for a couple of hours. The pier disappeared since our last visit and the beach was a little bit rocky. We hope that will be fixed by our next visit later this year. Our ocean view room was wonderful and my wife says that the bed for the first time in Mexico was very, very comfortable. We have a timeshare in Puerto Vallarta at the Playa Del Sol Condominiums, so we are very familiar with the culture of Mexico. 2 weeks at our timeshare and 2 weeks at BBG makes our Wisconsin winters a little bit easier to live with! Sandy and I will recommend BBG to everyone we know that are looking for a vacation resort in Mexico. Keep the fun going and we will be back!

Blue Bay Getaway...you get what you pay for...I stayed there in May of 2002...Room was better than I anticipated...Beach nasty...Small orgy going on during a rain storm in the middle of the pool...honestly...oral sex for the world to see. Enough said I would still go back...

My husband and I loved it! We had a blast when we went a year ago to Blue Bay Getaway. I liked the food fine (although I'll admit I'm not a picky eater) and I couldn't tell you about the hard drinks because we mostly drank the beer - but it was good Mexican beer (tastes like Corona Beer). The nightly entertainment was fun and I think that if nudity bothers you, it would be best to not to attend. I found it hilarious and fun. We went there for relaxation and fun and we found it. The best part is that it was significantly cheaper than most of the other all-inclusive resorts we found. We got great service and tons of relaxation on the beach. We are going back there again next week! Waa Whoo! I can hardly wait!

Awesome! It was great. I have never been on a vacation where I wanted to stay because of the staff. As long as you follow the rules and don’t be a fool, the Blue Bay Getaway is the place to stay. Very nude and a lot of sexual activity all over. The contests consisted of licking various body parts nudity and a lot of other crazy thing. If you are into having a good time and laughing a lot this is the place to go. Activities to keep you busy all day long. Food was great for an all-inclusive. The restaurants were comparable to NY food (I live in NY) and the buffet was more than enough to choose from. I would 100% go back it was a great time with a lot of great friendly guests. Age group ranged from 21-60 and nudity all around (didn’t see any men, which was good) but the women of all ages had no problem taking their tops off. All around it was a great time and would recommend to everyone!

We have just stayed at the Blue Bay Getaway for two weeks and we had a great time. There is a lot of crazy stuff going on both day and night but you can choose whether to participate or just watch and laugh. The hotel room was nice although it wasn’t a sea view room, it was spacious, very clean and the bed was huge. The maid was excellent, she minted our room everyday. The food in the hotel was excellent apart from the village wok which was not very good, but all the other restaurants were excellent. The staff throughout the hotel is very friendly and are always up for a laugh. The drinks do seem a little weaker than normal, but it’s all-inclusive so you just keep on drinking. I would definitely go.

Stayed 7 days at the BBG with 2 friends. We had problems from the start. First they gave us the wrong room key (We walked in on a couple having a shower together). Our shower leaked badly and the drains would back up. Complaining about this got us nowhere. They were supposed to switch our room but they never did. Then came the brochure photo shoot. We were asked to leave our poolside chairs several times for over an hour at a time to accommodate the photo shoot. When we returned our towels and sunscreen were mysteriously gone. They cancelled our spa appointments and there were times when we were told we could not walk through certain parts of the resort, as we would be in the background of their pictures. This did not happen for just one day; this went on for about 5 days of our stay. Now for the entertainment... If seeing people have oral sex in the middle of the bar while the activities cast cheers them on does not bother you then this is your place. Do not get sucked into their games as they usually involve taking articles of clothing off or them blasting shots of Tequila down your throat. (Beware, they cheat on the games too. Chinos is the worst for this). As for the food...Buffet-Good, Village Wok-Awesome, Bella Vista Seafood-Awesome. We did not try Il Piacere (Italian) as we heard from several people that it was not very good. I guess to conclude I would definitely go to Cancun but I would never go back to the Blue Bay Getaway!

The blue bay getaway gets mixed reviews from my husband and I. On the plus side, the entertainment is fun (if you like adult themes), the pools are nice, and they have sailing. On the down side, the beach isn't that great, the place is noisy at night, the food is so-so and the drinks are watered down. The resort is more like a 3-star, not 4. It's a fun getaway, but if do not recommend it for a special occasion or honeymoon! It isn't nice enough for that.

Blue Bay Getaway was awful! I wish I had done more research before booking a 10-day stay. From the moment you arrive, everyone is trying to "upgrade" your stay and sell you timeshares. No matter how many times we declined, they never got the message. They were worse than used car salesmen. It's one of the oldest hotels in Cancun and located at the end of the peninsula where the sewage drains. The stench of sewer permeated inside and outside. If we turned the air conditioner on, the stench was worse because it was combined with the smell of cigarettes. The bath water was the color of iced tea. We couldn't believe we were "bathing" in it. The ocean was blackish green. The bed offered no comfort. It was old and had no padding -- we could feel every spring. The "sexy" pool was anything but. The liquor was some of the worst stuff we ever tasted. The vodka was like embalming fluid. After five days, we finally packed our belongings and headed to the Hilton. We had to heal for one entire day. We were covered in mite bites and something made our eyes swell shut. The difference was night and day! This was the worst experience of our lives.

My wife and I (late 30's) just returned after 2 weeks at the Blue Bay Getaway. It was our first time in Cancun and also first time at an all-inclusive resort. Overall, our impression is mixed. On the plus side, the room was nice & clean, maids were excellent (our towels were folded into a different shape every day - swans, sailboats, baskets, etc.) and the rest of the staff (bartenders/waiters/cooks) were also excellent. The food at the Chinese/Italian/Seafood restaurants was also quite good. Beach is nice but a little on the small side. There was no full nudity, but plenty of topless people, no complaints about that here! Massages from the spa were excellent as well. On the negative side, the main buffet was only average, and the alcohol served was only generic brands with only one brand of beer served. Our room faced the ocean and main pool, so it was quite noisy all the time. The 'entertainment' was definitely geared for a spring break (under 25) crowd, but we found it to be irritating after a couple of days - a Mexican guy screaming profanity & other crude sayings into a microphone by the pool day in day out. We're not prudes (not be a long shot) but come on people, is this really entertainment? Overall I would give it 3 stars. We feel there are better ways to spend your vacation dollars than on an all-inclusive resort. If the entertainment is to your liking, you will like Blue Bay, but if not, you should go elsewhere.
Adam, e-mail withheld, 2004-11-14
There were no problems worth mentioning. Blue Bay Getaway is a four star resort and is worth a four star rating. The food is actually above standards for an all-inclusive resort. The buffet has a different menu each day so there are plenty of different things to choose from. The "nice" restaurants were OK. Getting reservations is not a problem. What bothered me was that you are limited to the number of times you could use them. We were staying five nights and could only use these restaurants two times. When I couldn't decide between two of the entrees in the Seafood restaurant, I was give both - that was a nice surprise. The beach is small but the water is calm and it is much better to swim in than the beaches on the "long" side of the island. The shows at night tend to be a bit wild. If you aren't into that type of thing just don't go, there is plenty of other things to do in Cancun. If you don't want to be around kids this is a great place. The pools are very nice and the place is very clean with very helpful staff. Tips may help at the bar but I found just asking for a little more alcohol works just fine. Overall this is a great place and the best value I have found in an all-inclusive resort.
Randy, rwbonnema@yahoo.com, 2004-05-18
My wife and I are prudes, and have been to the Blue Bay Getaway twice. The entertainment is risqué, but usually quite funny. They do not force anyone to do anything they don't want to, and the staff is always excellent. We also had a far better time booking our tours through the hotel instead of through Apple vacations. They went in small buses, and only from our hotel, no more stopping at ten hotels adding three hours to the day when you could be spending that time at their beautiful pools. The food is good, not great, but hey, you are not staying at the Ritz. The price is excellent. We heard one snooty lady complain that there was not lobster tails at every meal when we were there. PLEASE!!! Get a clue, it is only a hundred bucks a night and they keep your drinks flowing, the rooms clean, and the food is always plentiful. My wife and I are booking again for this summer, and will be bringing a couple of friends again. What a blast. Even for a couple of 30 year old prudes. Have fun!!! Also, the restaurant at their sister hotel was very nice, otherwise, no real need to go there. And no kids!!!! YAY!!! My wife is a school teacher, and I volunteer in her school and my daughters school 3 days a week. We deserve a week a year without kids. :)
Allan, Ditttohead@earthlink.net, 2004-03-17
I do not think it is for only the 20-30 age group, my Husband (mid 50s) and I (late 40s) love the Blue Bay Getaway. We are planning another trip this year. It was a relaxing and fun time.
Deb, e-mail withheld, 2004-01-05
Although Blue Bay Getaway is an Adults only, it caters toward those between 20-30. Its a pretty fun time those looking to have fun. The pools are a blast, and the activities are awesome. Breakfast is the same all week, but dinners were great, and the Chinese and Italian restaurants were great. We had no problems with our room, and we found the whole resort to be exceptionally clean, friendly, and fun… If you are over 30ish and looking for a place to relax, not see a lot of naked people, and not willing to play semi-porn games, dont go to Blue Bay. If you are under 30, dont care if you see some T & A, and are looking for a great resort, you will enjoy Blue Bay.
Joe, joearko@hotmail.com, 2003-05-24
The best holiday of my life. The entertainment is brilliant, and the service at the Blue Bay Getaway is fantastic. Hopefully going back next year. For anyone who had a bad experience must have been a one off because everyone I spoke to there loved every minute of it. Truly brilliant and a must for all.
Gemma, e-mail withheld, 2003-04-15
My wife and I have been to the Blue Bay Getaway resort three times in the last six years and we absolutely love it. I feel bad for the others who have obviously had bad experiences. It is my experience that the staff are top notch, the facility is great and the overall vibe of the Getaway is fun fun fun! Blue bay gets my vacation plans on an annual basis now, it is home away from home.
Steve, ffsteven@hotmail.com, 2003-02-24
My co-worker and nine other people just returned from The Blue Bay Getaway and were totally disappointed with their trip, the service and the hotel! When they arrived, they didnt even have rooms let alone five rooms together. Three of the couples ended up together, but their rooms smelled of sewage!! They booked this trip seven months in advance...and confirmed their reservations! They werent too happy with the nightly entertainment either, which was described as almost pornographic at times (they are not prudes!) One of the guys threw in his shoes and shirt as requested by the MC...and never got them back! The claim that you can eat at other restaurants in other adjoining hotels was bogus...you could do it, if you went when they told you to go, not when you wanted to! Another thing: Why would bars be closed at 11 p.m. at an adult resort? And what about the trip to the Mayan Ruins that they went on one Sunday. The admission to the Ruins was supposedly included in the price of this side-trip and when they got there they found a brochure saying that admission on Sundays is always free!!! This place sounds like a real scam! I would think that word of mouth is a very important factor in running such a resort. In this case, you will lose the business of all ten of these people and everyone they talk to. I will certainly never go there!
A. Sloan, sloana@pccchealth.org, 2003-01-28
Best time of my life... Food wasnt great but not bad. Pool and activities were fun. Activities directors lots of fun. Rooms were renovated and new!! Cant wait to get back to Blue Bay Getaway!
Tammy, TammyCrow@aol.com, 2003-01-09
Blue Bay Getaway is the WORST resort I ever stayed at!!! 65% under renovations, terrible food. Our room flooded after a heavy rain and the rooms smelled of sewage! SAME buffet breakfat EVERYDAY for two weeks. Save your money and stay home.......or at least spend it at another resort.
