Villas Maya Bungalows is surrounded by lush gardens for those that do not like the feel of a high rise hotel, this is the ideal room for you.When staying at the bungalows, the feeling is one of comfort and charm. These were the first accommodations available in Akumal, and have since been remodeled and upgraded, of course, but the charm of the bungalow style hotel room is still there, and few hotels today build their rooms with such spaciousness and as separate units. Instead, they build up, and squeeze as many units as possible in as little land.

The bungalows are situated among the lush gardens of our property, with only 8 bungalows to a quadrangle, or in the adjacent section, the rooms are four to a section. They are just steps away from the beach, and although they do not have a view of the ocean, they make up for it in charm and privacy, and convenience. You just walk a few minutes and you are in the center of the property where the food service areas are. Many people prefer staying in the bungalows instead of the ocean front rooms.

Each bungalow has either one king size bed or two double beds, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini refrigerator, and best of all, no one below you or on top of your room to disrupt your privacy. The rooms are spacious, and can be rented as single, double, or triple occupancy rooms.

I have been to bungalows over the years and they remain comfortable, reasonably priced, and well maintained. Always look forward to returning. The food while not cheap was reasonable, well prepared and satisfying. I have recommended the place to many over the years. A good place to take children as the beach is safe from crashing waves as the reef prevents large waves from coming in. Near enough to Cancun for day trips there or to many of the ruins in the area. Tulum is not to be missed, nor is Coba and others within a few hours drive. I am reasonably well traveled within Mexico and find Villas Maya a great place to return to.
